Hi Lovely Fabbers!

I have been unfortunately MIA lately. Life has been a bit complicated lately not allowing for much fun with fashion. I wont bog you down with details but between my ailing mother and my new rescue dog that bit my brother I have had my hands full. I love this dog, but what were we thinking?

Anyway, we are celebrating my dd's birthday tonight but before I am meeting up with my future d-in law for her final wedding dress fitting. The designer apparently created Norah Jones' gown for the Grammy's last year....and has created a new wedding gown design especially for my future DIL and is naming it after her:)

1-I was planning to wear this outfit today/tonight-it's a gorgeous warm and sunny day! Is this too casual for a dress fitting? Too much "white" before Memorial Day?
2-And this pair New Sperry boat shoes-are they keepers? ps I have fussy feet and these feel pretty good but am still wearing around the house to make sure.

Appreciate any and all feedback. Hope to be more active soon, I miss you guys!

I think this looks fantastic and would be very appropriate for the occasion. Love the color combo, very fresh, spring like and sophisticated. You look great head to toe!

Thanks, Angie and Beth Ann! It was a fun day, I was comfortable in my outfit and felt perfectly appropriate for the day. DIL dress is beautiful-still a few more tweaks to make but absolutely stunning. The designer is using Chantilly lace that is so exquisite it takes my breath away.

As to fur-baby, we have been in contact with a trainer who is helping us to know how to handle her. She is super sweet and loving to everyone except the one instance with by brother, but she drew blood and left teeth marks so it is very serious business to get this under control.

Sorry to hear about the rescue dog biting problem. My bf has a rescue dog and one of our dogs came from a border collie placement service (the unwanted ones go through this service) so even though he was just 4 months old, he had grown up in a trailer laundry room and has so much fear, still, at almost 7 years. And my bf's dog has bitten me so hard, I don't even know where to start. But we are still keeping them. We just have to keep them all safely crated when company comes. Otherwise, it's actually good having some suspicious biter dogs for the unwanted company. Our other two dogs are Labs and would let themselves be kidnapped for nothing more than a kind glance not to mention any kind of treat. So the biters have their place, they are truly the watch dogs for us. It's just all about managing them properly. Of course I live in a rural area with lots of warning when someone arrives, so it might be different for someone who lives in a more densely populated area.

I am sorry about your ailing mother but so happy you are celebrating your DD's birthday (it's my Mom's birthday tonight too) and a future wedding! I do miss you here. I love this outfit and you are so tall and gorgeous you look like a J Crew model here. You just wear those ankle pants like no one else.

As far as the shoes go, I haven't owned a pair of boat shoes since my feet widened and the arches got higher, basically since my feet grew into their adult status. I could wear them as a teen only. So I will leave their fate in more expert hands but I will say they have always been a difficult fit on me compared to ballet flats or oxfords.

Great outfit, Carole. Love the patterned pants and crisp white blouse. You look like spring personified. LOVE the boat shoes. I keep trying the Sperry version to see if I will one day like them but it hasn't happened yet. The ones you have are fab--much more polished that the Sperry's and so stylish. I think they suit your polished casual style very well.

Sorry to hear about your mom. Hope that things settle down soon. Hugs to puppy too.

Denise-Thanks for sharing your story about your dogs-it helps to know that others experience some of these same issues....I imagine it would be hard to trust a dog that bit me so I admire your commitment. and FEAR-yes, that's it. She is very sensitive to sounds-her previous owners had Harley Davidson motorcycles and kept her locked in her crate for 10+ hours a day and then left to her own defenses in the backyard when they were home. I have visions of what she experienced but it's hard to say what else may have gone on. I hate to make it sound like she is a problem because 99.9999% of the time she is the sweetest most lovable thing.
