WTW at US Open

Invited to attend US Open at a corporate pavilion today.

Tickets came with a list of rules including a request that attendees NOT wear jeans. Men are asked to wear collared shirts.

Okay, I can see not wanting people in beat up old jeans. Unfortunately, I don't have many non-jean pants to wear except some black pants, (ugh) and some wool pants--not appropriate. I don't want to wear a skirt.

Do you think there is a difference between blue jeans and say, tan NYDJ or white denim jeans? The weather is going to be cooler today, 60s and low 70s. Most people we see on TV and in photos are wearing shorts and tee shirts. We are not going to be out on the golf course, but mostly in the pavilion.

So, white jeans? Tan jeans? Black pants? What would you wear?

I'd wear white jeans and a button down or blouse and comfortable shoes. Have fun! (DH was up there the other day and I know he wore jeans and a polo. I don't think he was barred from anything.)

Thanks, Kelly. Unfortunately I didn't iron the shirt that goes best with the white jeans so wore the beige/tan with a dark top and was fine. The sun didn't ever come out and fortunately my DH insisted I take a warmer jacket.

I was surprised to see that few blue jeans were worn, although later in the day many more showed up. I did see quite a few white jeans.

We had to park at Candlestick and take the shuttle bus to the Olympic. Lots of walking and lots of stairs. And lots of uphill and downhill. Most of the golfers looked really cool, especially the 17-year old in his white outfit.

I did wonder how the guy in the tiger suit got in.

Sounds like an eventful day, wouldn't it be useful if dress codes actually said what they mean!

How cool that you got to go to the Open!

There's a difference between blue jeans and white or tan, although jeans are still jeans. But for something like the US Open, when the club is... open... well, I'm sure no one would do anything to make a scene. I mean, like asking for someone to leave.
