WTMGO: With new bag cameo and K/R cropped sweater

This is definitely way too much going on! The bag is not going out with this outfit, but I thought I'd throw it on to show the size on me. Old Current Elliott silver slouchy skinnies, consignment boots, old shirt, new Maje cropped sweater with extra-long sleeves.

The sweater is a K/R... I love the cropped look, but I can't do a really fitted one.

Also, purple hair. The blue was going to require more damage than I could handle.

Thoughts?

Gadzooks you are fab Una! Love the purple hair - purple is less damaging than blue? I learn something new every day. Love the new bag. Love the silver slouchy skinnies. Love the color of the cropped sweater and the fit, just don't ever really know what to do with them, although apparently you do!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the purple hair! Unfortnately, I have a poison eye for the really cropped sweater, however, I do like them layered over longer tops because it adds texture and visual interest. It's nice, but do you love it?

Love the hair, love the old jeans, love love love the new bag. Meh on the sweater. It fits well, looks comfortable and cozy, but doesn't wow me. But take that with a grain of salt -I have a LOT to figure out about stylish knitwear.

I, too, have a poison eye for cropped sweaters, so I won't comment on that. But the jeans, the bag and the hair are absolutely fabulous. The bag is bigger IRL than it looks in photos by itself; it really looks like an ideal size. And the hair is fantastic. Love purple or blue!

I really like cropped sweaters, but I think they only work with a tight under layer, or bare skin. I don't think you'd do either.

I don't have a poison eye for cropped sweaters...I think the sweater looks fine. However, it doesn't seem all that exciting to me--more like everyday casual. It seems like it may be emphasizing your IT shoulders, though...unless I'm just noticing you're at IT today for the first time.

Love the hair (of course)!!! I'm not sure about the sweater. It hits at a spot I am not keen on on me. I don't have a waist, but I have (yay, lucky me. Not) a belly. That length would highlight both. A curved hem works better--a high low crop if that makes sense. I also wonder if this isn't a little tight on your shoulders. Sorry to be so negative. And you know I'm no expert, so my advice is worth what you paid for it (which isn't something I say very often)!!!

No worries! It's not tight at all but it is bulky which creates that illusion of more size and bulk. It is longer in back but not so much as to be curved. I have no waist either, and a belly despite the 30 day plank challenge. Sigh...

Well, I'm going to go with a dissenting opinion here because I like the cropped sweater as you've styled it here--sort of a volume on volume look with the structure coming from the cropped hemline and the long look of the arms. I think that cropped sweater gives a cool, modern vibe to the skinnies with longer sweater uniform. But I'm hugely in love with anything that looks fluid and uncontrived these days, so take my observation with that in mind.

And that bag is simply gorgeous.

Okay, so I can see that the stripes are not doing me any favors with the crop - but would a solid fluid top work? There is no way I am baring anything in the midriff area, that is for sure!

I love all the pieces here. Pants, top, sweater, bag, to die for. (I can't really see the boots detail but they look good, too.) I'm stuck on the sweater-top combo. I really, really like the sweater. And the striped top. I think they look fine together, but I'm thinking you could come up with something more smashing. I think the sweater would go over something more fitted, yes, but maybe also a top that has more swing at the bottom--more of an a-line silhouette. Or a flowy silk blouse with a shirt-tail hem? Worth a try?

Oh--and the hair is very cool, too!

Well I really like the whole outfit, as is. FAbulous hair!! You carry the cut and color off with such panache!! I like the cropped sweater. I think it's totally fun. Love the silver skinnies and adore the bag!! It's got that Kate and Ashley, I just threw this on and look fabulous, look to it.

Love it all, want the slouchy skinnies, have no idea about the cropped sweater, and the hair!!! Please.
BTW, the bag is actually bigger and a different shape than it seemed in the website pics. And the effect is I now want it MORE.

Love the new bag. I'm not a fan of cropped sweaters unless they are worn with a high waisted bottom.

Like viva, I thought the bag would be smaller from the website pics and I love it more now seeing it here.

I'm having a hard time getting a sense of the sweater because it's hard to see the texture and depth from the pics. The stripes look fine, but at first look before reading the text, I thought it was one fluid color-blocked sweater. Could just be my monitor.

Love the bag, jeans and hair. Totally fab. Also surprised at the purple/blue damage comment... why is that?

I also like the sweater, as you're wearing it here. I had a "huh" moment when you said cropped sweater, actually, as I thought that was all one!

But if you wouldn't wear it like this, I'm not sure if you'd like it as it "should" be worn, or if how you WOULD wear it, would work.

hmmm. Think I'll try restyling the cropped sweater to see if I can make it work better. Yes, the bag is a good size but not overwhelming on me! I need to give it a test run this weekend.

The blue itself is not more damaging but the prep is. To get it to "take", I would have to bleach my hair again (1 hour just made it orange) and I just can't handle the resulting brittle feel. Asian hair is so resistant, which is good and bad. Anyway, she just did my roots and then an overall purple which took to the bleached parts more than the rest.

I'm with Gaylene: I like the swingy sweater over swingy underlayer, but considering my outfit today, traditional figure flattery is not high on my priority list. I also love the textural details and raglan sleeves of the sweater in the close up. That bag is neat too!
