Wrong item shipped- advice for return?

The completely wrong pair of shoes was shipped but right one was on packing list. I plan to return in person. Has this happened to anyone? Any challenges with the return?

Happened to me last year (it was a different pair of Paul Green shoes than the ones I ordered). I returned them in person and had no trouble at all.

I had something like this happen from Nordstrom recently — I ordered a black Zella athletic top, and what arrived was a black blouse from some other brand, packed in a plastic wrapper with a label for the Zella top. I returned in store and no problems at all. Apparently it happens sometimes.

I had something similar just happen. I ordered a Topshop top and they sent a green, off-the-shoulder dress. I just called and they emailed me a return slip, put in the original order and rushed delivery, and removed the charge. I don't think it will be any problem for you to return the wrong ones in store (and hopefully have them send you the proper ones).

I’d be very surprised if you have any trouble returning it; Nordstrom’s customer service is usually platinum rated!

I had it happen to me last month. I ordered black and they shipped brown. I returned it without issue.

I’ve had this happen, but not with Nordstrom. Zappos apologized and told me to keep the orange patent sandals. Well, at least they fit. Macy’s sent a denim jacket when I had ordered a railroad stripe jacket. I don’t expect to have a problem, but if I do, my plan is to be polite yet assertive.

Nordstrom's will be excellent about this. It sometimes happens -- they will accept the return no questions.

I would call Nordstrom online to let them know of the error and would ask them to put a note in the system. I would also document whom I spoke with. This way I would have all bases covered before returning the item.

I have received a few funny items by mistake from Nordies, and they have always been gracious about accepting the return. I recently received the wrong size dress from Boden, and they were also very good about taking the return. The dress was mislabeled. I think sale items maybe more susceptible to error because of the quick turn around and large mail order volume.

Nordstrom’s once sent me the wrong colour bag. It was mislabeled. I’d been stalking it, and was so excited when the “right” one popped back up online. By the time it got to me, in Canada, a couple of weeks had gone by. I figured there was no way that I was ever going to get my beloved bag after that amount of time (hadn’t been available online within a day or two of me ordering it). So I called, and the SA tracked one down for me from a store, and had it shipped. I was very impressed. And relieved!

I received two boxes the other day, one with my correct order and packing slip and a second with the same packing slip and completely different items. I believe I was only charged once, but I am going to call to be sure and get a label and advice for returning. What was baffling is that it was an order the SA requested for wrong-size items I was interested that were coming from another store. It almost feels like they shipped me someone else's order by mistake (with the wrong packing slip).

Yes, this has happened to me. I called and spoke on the phone and shipped item back. No problems at all.

Returned in person today, with absolutely no problems on the misshipment of shoes. I’ve been impressed with Nordstrom’s online ordering and in person return process. It reduces my hesitation in ordering something that I may be incertain about.

I'm glad it worked out. A couple of months ago, I was sent the wrong pair of jeans, and like you, the correct item appeared on the packing list. I returned in-store and had no problem.

This reminds me of the great customer service I had from Zappos recently. I had ordered a pair of beach slides ($39) and another pair of similar shoes (more $$) was sent to me instead. When I called customer service, they said to keep the wrong shoes, no charge (they suggested donating them if I didn’t want them) and they would send me the correct ones. Kind of amazing and a bit decadent, I thought, but I have always been a fan of Zappos, like Nordstrom.
