We agreed that I should start a thread, challenging you all to share how to wrap up that good old goldie, the wrap dress! Patterned, solid, it doesn't matter what yours is like - we want variety. No rules, but a deadline (not mandatory): Please post your styling(s) of your wrap/faux wrap dress before or during Sunday Feb 17. How do you wear it? We really want to know! Use an old photo if you want to, it doesn't have to be new.

Oooh, I am wearing one today! Was too rushed this morning to get a pic, but I will try to post a WiW tonight.

I am LOVING wrap dresses. I only own one, and it is my only dress, hehehe, but more are in my future!

What an awesome idea! I own a bunch of wrap dresses, tough most of them are on a summery side. So I will post of a couple of winter-appropriate looks this weekend, though I won't get to wear them any time soon ( no dresses at work).

I tried on my sleeveless wrap dress this morning, and didn't like it with anything I tried. I may attempt a remake - a different shaped skirt and cutting off the ruffles would help it to me.

I do have a then and now wrap dress comparison but not sure it's any help. I simply put on the dress, some jewelry, and shoes. Nothing much different really.

I'm going to have to watch this one too. Unfortunately I have no wrap dress, but I would love to get one. So maybe all the ideas on how to style them will inspire me!

Okay Ingunn - you asked for it! Here are a few outfits wearing my black/white graphic print Maggy London wrap dress. It's kind of a hybrid between a faux wrap and a real wrap in that it does completely wrap around and tie but also has a snap that holds the waist in place - good for avoiding wardrobe malfunctions.

1. Maggy London faux wrap: waving at dress twin Shannon!

2-7. This one is actually a BR wrap dress too...circa 1990's! It's probably one of the oldest things in my closet that I still wear. I know with patterned dresses it's harder to change it up, but they are all slightly different. And it's worked quite well as a non-maternity maternity dress!
2. Non-pregnant
3-4. First trimester
5-6. Second trimester
7-9. Third trimester (w/ matchy matchy necklace & shoes)

A quick reminder about the little wrap dress challenge, fabbers

I tried the denim jacket with my wrap dresses yesterday, too (of course), and here's the result:

Black BR wrap dress
Denim jacket from H&M
Black heeled boots (Bought in Paris last fall)
Black/white/cream scarf (from H&M, gift from my mother)
Red bag

I think I'll wear this for work in the near future - we are very casual around here, so this is dressy enough.

This post was a good reminder to wear my wrap dresses! I decided to wear my newest wrap dress from BR for Valentines Day. I wish you could see the hose a little better. I love the texture of these, sort of like snagged linen, if that makes sense. I was happy to have another outfit to use my new "Angie recommended" clutch. I can NOT wear heels so I wore my SE Petty suede booites with this and my feet were happy and so was I.

I love the new denim jacket with yours, Ingunn!

As promised I just had to pop back to this thread and check out everyone's dresses. I must say you all look great! Ingunn, Thistle, Shannon, Natalie and Carole you are all making me think I should get a wrap dress for myself! Thanks for the inspiration!

Here is my contribution, and I have to admit that this is a half-failed experiment. It turned out that all but one of my wrap dresses have short sleeves, which only makes it possible to layer over them. (It also explains why I wear them mostly in the summer). My old photos are on my old dead computer - haven't recovered them yet, so none for comparison. I tried to style these dresses the way I would wear them now , when it is still quite cold. I was hoping to do multiple ways for all the dresses, but gave up after the third one due to the layering issues discussed above. The last few pretty much all look alike but I added them since I already took the photos. (Sorry about the wrinkles - they came from an neglected stuffed corner of my closet).

#1 and 2 - classic patterned navy DVF, styled on its own and dressed down
#3 and 4 - black DVF with very full skirt - dressed up (imagine red lipstick) and down
#5 and 6 - simple short sleeve black jersey H&M - tried to be creative with layering
#7,8 and 9 - patterned wrap dresses (first two by H&M and last one by BCBG) worn with various jackets and boots/booties

Tanya, I see no failure here. You have a wonderful collection of wrap dresses! I particularly love how you've layered in #4-5, but it's hard to choose - the all look great.

Dear all: it is not too late to share a photo of yourself in a wrap dress. It doesn't need to be new!

Just a quick comment before i read the rest of the posts: Ingunn, I loved how you styled the wrap dress in the 3 photos, especially #2 with the striped shirt! I so want to do that, but I need a solid colored wrap dress first. Mine is much to bold a pattern and in the consignment bag right now.

Oh my goodness, _I_ totally missed this! Despite knowing it was coming...

So, bumping for extra contributions, because we can all learn from seeing lots and lots of examples. And I now have a BR wrap dress myself, so will add to it sometime soon when I have time to play. Better late than never, huh??
