I'm afraid it's suffering by comparison to the long-awaited, much-touted version of itself in my head, like an over-hyped bestselling book.
The wrap style that was so alluring to me because I'll be able to wear it for quite a while is also one of my concerns. It's fussy to put on. Wind and curious toddlers are likely to lift the wrap. There's a decent amount of overlap, and it's not like I work with toddlers. And the wind thing, well, I live on the plains, so it's an issue. But probably not much of one; I've probably got a hand that can hold it closed when it's windy and I'm out in it — it's not like I'm likely to wear this on a hike on a blustery day.
Just a note: It's quite warm-weather specific, at least in this length. It'll go a ways into the fall for me, but not to really cold weather, even with boots, I don't think.
My other concern is possibly an issue of fantasy life versus my actual life. I haven't found a way to get actual workouts into my life, so instead the past 6+ months I've been using my Fitbit to motivate me to get steps in here and there, throughout the day. And it's working! But this means that I get quite sweaty, several times a day, from running in place or from running up and down and up and down the stairs. And while I never planned to dry clean this, I also don't think throwing it in with the load of jeans is smart.
Jenn: I haven't actually worn it; I just threw it on so DH could take photos yesterday. So I don't know for sure how I'll feel in it for all day.
Unfrumped: I have some turquoise/aqua tops, and that was my initial thought for pairing, but none of the ones that were clean when I was taking the photo were a perfect match. Is that what you meant by lighter color(s)? There's also a white-type color in the bottom layer. I also have a chartreuse that will work I think, if none of the turquoise/teal/aquas end up working.
Thanks, E, Smittie, Maneera, Tracey, Diane, Joy, cjh, Ankita, and Deborah!
