wow, it's been a long time: opinions on some new purchases, please

i'm dipping a toe back into the photo posting waters with some new purchases -- working my way up slowly to posting outfit photos, and maybe blogging, again! i had a gift card for urban outfitters, so here's what i made off with. let me know if any of these aren't quite up to par, or how you'd style any of them.

#1 - a very pretty polka-dot dress that was lurking in the sale section for $19.99. are the ruffles at the top a bit much? i adore the retro silhouette of this dress!

#2 - red patent t-strap flats. again, something with a retro, vintage vibe -- i guess that's just my style. surprisingly comfortable.

#3 - perhaps this is ridiculously trendy, but i was drawn to this bar ring -- you know, the kind you wear on three fingers at once?

#4 - also lurking on the sale rack, an insanely snuggly and cozy moto sweater in my favorite shade of golden yellow. i will be very sad if you tell me this isn't killer, because it is absolutely yummy to me!

so i then made my way to h&m to see what all these new things angie had posted about, and while it certainly didn't disappoint in terms of quality and variety, it did for me in terms of fit. as in, nothing seemed to fit me quite right. i didn't really fall in love with anything once it was on me, but i did take the plunge with this yellow cascading cardigan... and am unsure it was wise. observe:

does it look off? am i just not wearing it right? it's a lot more volume than i'm used to, so perhaps that's what it is. maybe a more streamlined sheath or something instead of the dress i'm wearing with it? help!

aaaaand if you have the patience and have made it this far, ONE LAST THING. i've been hankering for a classic trench -- not that taupey beigey khaki kind that would probably wash me out, nor a bright color, but this seemed to fit the bill. i'm kind of in love with it, so even if you don't like it, i'll keep wearing it -- but i'm hoping you will, so i'll feel justified!

I love it all too, especially how the jacket, coat and cardigan give the dress a completely different look.

I can't say I am a huge fan of the ring, sort of reminds me of a knuckle duster...

Moto cardi- love it the colour is fab

aj, that's actually a really cool idea! i might engrave it.

marianna, it's actually very comfy! it's more comfortable than wearing separate rings on side-by-side fingers, since i've found those clank against each other weirdly as you go through the day.

angie, a killer rating! well, that means i HAVE to keep it then!

I'm so glad hannas back. Such stellar outfits too. LOVE your black dress, esp with the cascading cardie. Trench is 10/10 as well. You know I want to see more already, right?
