Well here I am coming up to 5 years on YLF! I don’t have annual goals regarding wardrobe, more a very long-term plan to slowly reduce wardrobe size, increase wears beyond 30 per piece, and make fewer mistakes. Happy to say the plan is going well. In 2021 numbers in were 15 and numbers out 23. Of the items out, only one had under 30 wears. One pair of sandals were literally trashed (broken straps), one pair of boots all rubbed on the surface, 4 clothing items very worn-looking and went to rag recycling. 14 items from 2011-2019 I was tired of, all but the one pair of sandals had over 30 wears though so a success.
I feel I don’t tire of items as much as some, which suggests I must make good choices for my own tastes most of the time? 4 items went to my daughters which is good too, they will give those 4 a second life which is nice. 5 items are too big for me now, one of those was some nice white linen shorts only bought last summer, still had enough wears on the way and I found another similar pair a size down. I am wearing the new pair in pic 3.
I really enjoyed other people’s end of year review threads, thanks to you all who did them especially SarahD8 and Chris987 whose thoughts resonated, as did my own old thoughts from earlier threads of mine.
And I love woven embroidery threads! Have been enjoying my 2019 “gold thread sandals” and of course my new jacket!
Here are a couple of holiday shots from our recent 8-day break too.
