Tulle skirts have not been really speaking to me, but I did buy this blue velvet skirt (which I imagine would have to be styled in a similar way to the tulle skirt) and I really love it because it adds a touch of fun and freshness to my wardrobe. I like this best on me with a white shirt and white boots. If you like the skirt and can see yourself wearing it, definitely go for it and then wear it every opportunity you can (with a t-shirt and sneakers when out and about...). That is what wildcard items are all about, things that you buy because they are a bit outside of your normal and practical items.

I haven't and don't think I would but never say never. I bought this skirt, which is a shiny brocade and not my usual style, and I just luurve it. I plan to wear it with ankle boots and black jacket and will probably wear it to work even though it is borderline evening wear.
You should get that tulle skirt
Oh, and I luurve Bijou's velvet skirt too.

Harmonica, I've been dreaming of a tulle skirt for a while. I would love to wear one in the everyday--work, for example--dressed down in some way. Garnet Hill has featured something like this (with tees or sweaters) for a while. I also work in an academic environment and I would love to dress up a little more than I do now. In my field, there's a bit of latitude in how people dress.

I do enjoy styling my 6-year old in a cream tulle skirt with sweaters. I live vicariously!

Thanks all! Your comments really spur my reasoning behind why I was drawn to this skirt. It could be this one item in my wardrobe that can transform from everyday glam to special occations.

I will have to try it on in person, though. I'd like it to be about knee-length, no shorter. And if I feel stuffed and poufy, I'll happily pass. I think I would manage to sew one by myself, but not sure it would be cheaper.

Elle, cheryl, EmilyK - thanks!

JAileen, Joy - it's good when you have it sorted and don't clutter your RL wardrobe with imaginary life style pieces

Mel - I was never a girlie girl and have avoided pink for 40 years. Maybe it's time to try something new-to-me.

JenniNZ - better to have fantasy items than wardrobe orphans

Bijou - that velvet looks so luxe!

Brooklyn - beautiful skirt! Great you take it to work.

K.M. - none of my boys would ever wear a tulle, lol.

See, I love Bijou's and Brooklyn's skirts! If I had the right kind of body and the occasion, I would wear those instead of tulle. In fact, I had similar ones in the past, in my younger, skinnier, dressier days.

I love the tulle skirt, but not for me, my DD wears them so I will pass.

Me no. It's really not my style. But a friend of mine bought one to wear as a wedding guest. She loves it.

Yes.If black, sleekest possible and midi length- why not??? With a simple fine knit sweater/top (&strictly untucked),and fine booties, perfect for a party or to the theater.

I totally would if I found the right one!

Yes! I would wear it. I have seen so many that I have wanted. I think I am waiting for the right occasion but if the occasion doesn't happen I will probably buy one and wear around the house with a t-shirt...just because!

I would not wear it although it looks very nice in the ink color.

Eh, no. A tulle skirt wouldn't suit neither my lifestyle nor my taste/personality. However, I do understand that some can be attracted by the playful vibes of a tulle skirt.

Have you considered wearing a tulle skirt under another skirt so that only a narrow, low part of the tulle skirt is visible? The colours of the two skirts could be matching, for a discreet and elegant look. Or the colours could be different and the colour of the tulle skirt be repeated in an item near your face (say a blouse, a scarf or a piece of jewellery). That is a fun, chic and interesting look I have seen on several others.

The closest I get to wearing a tulle skirt is sporting a chiffon handkerchief skirt at informal parties. I wear it with a T-shirt in the same colour and dressy flats.
