Would you exchange these sandals for this reason?

After Angie posted about these sandals: http://youlookfab.com/store/ca.....r/sandals/ , I decided to try this style from the same company: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ev.....2354-0-0-2

These were pretty expensive for me, but my feet are becoming more problematic and it would be worth it to me to have a pair of good-looking, comfortable summer shoes.

They arrived, they're very soft and cushy, and I love the look. The problem? The left one has a scratch in the leather of the footbed.

It's not deep enough to split the leather, but I'm wondering if it might over time.

Would you exchange these for this reason? I'm also wondering if it's just a bad sign that the leather is too delicate and these won't hold up. For their price, I need them to be workhorses.

Definitely exchange them for another pair. I have a pair of Everybody booties and love them to death. Expensive but I do find them well made and extremely comfortable. My booties have held up fine even though the leather is quite soft and pliable.

I am bad about this. My Fossil purse came with a sticky zipper, my new maxi dress came with a snag right in the front. But I waxed the zipper, pulled the snag through to the other side and called it a day on both accounts. Oh, and my Miz Mooz foldover boots had a scratch on the leather on the left boot. Again, I figured I'll eventuallly end up scratching them myself so I just kept it. You would be completely in the right to return, and probably should at these prices, but I know I personally probably wouldn't bother.

I would exchange them. They look like great shoes, but for the price, they should be perfect.

I would exchange them, if only because hot weather hasn't really come to our parts yet anyway, so you'll have to wait to wear them no matter what.

I'm like Mo, I probably couldn't be bothered unless it was pretty convenient to do it. However, if you are so inclined I certainly think you are within your rights to exchange them.

I'm sort of lazy that way and unless I feel that it compromises the look or is actually damaged I wouldn't bother. But I think YOU should!

I have kept shoes with scratches before but in this case, I think you should exchange them. It's nordstrom so it won't be a hassle.

They should be perfect when you are paying top dollar. Exchange them and wear them happily!

I'd exchange, because it looks like that might be more than just a cosmetic flaw. I admit I don't always return/exchange shoes with scratches, since if it's just a cosmetic flaw, I'll probably put plenty of scratches in the leather the minute I wear them anyway. A scratch like this that might cause the shoe to break and become unwearable though - I would definitely exchange.

Interesting split on the verdict here -- which is probably why I'm torn.

On the one hand: lazy and sending these back is a pain (I don't think I can count on my "local" Nordstrom having my size in this color, plus it's not all that local.)

On the other hand: if I'm going to spend for quality, it should be *first* quality, right?

I'm late here but return them. Whether or not anything ever happens you will also wonder if and when they are going to split. For peace of mind return!
