This was great! I was tormented when I was 12/13 years old because I was very thin. (had a huge growth spurt at that time as well)
But what made it worse is that my mother brought this my my attention constantly, even dragging me to the doctor who gave me nutritional supplements which did not help me gain an ounce. I have never dieted in my life. I exercise and eat healthy.
Then when I turned 14, I blossomed. I was still thin, but I think my "female" development made a difference in how I was perceived by others. I was no longer the "sickly skinny kid", but now was the "hot teenage chick".
Fast forward and I had a daughter who too was very thin at age 12/13 and still is. She is perfect for her. She eats like a teenage boy (she is 23) so it is not like she is trying to be thin. I won't let anyone say anything to me about it and politely tell them that she is perfect for her and to mind their own business.
We are all individuals and should not look to one standard regarding our appearance. We should embrace those things that make us unique and the hell with what everyone else thinks.
