Would this color wash out a blonde? Equipment polka dot shirt

Do you think this muted clay/white polka dot shirt is too pale for a fair-skinned blonde and would it look washed out? I notice they're showing it on a dark-haired model, so it's hard to figure what it would look like. It's not available in-store. But, I like the way they've paired it with distressed denim.

I *think* so, Vicki. But I am not entirely sure. Online colours can be deceiving. You could order and experiment with the look. Also, the colour will probably look nice, but perhaps not your best.

Thanks, Angie! I was feeling the same way, especially when looking at skin tones and the way something "muted" could even clash. I think I'll keep looking for something brighter.

It's really tough to say. I find these colours the hardest to judge online. Is it peachy or pinky? You won't know until you see it in person. And which would look best on you? Again, that all depends. It isn't your hair colour but your skintone that will determine whether it will work.

I know that colour would NOT look good on me, but just because we are both blondes of a certain age doesn't mean our skin tones are the same. It is possible it could work for you! Still, a pain to order it and send back if it didn't work.

If this is at least close to the actual color and/or shade, then I would say it would look good on a blonde, esp. if you're a medium, or golden, blonde.

Your blouse color falls into the "flesh toned" category which will draw attention to your skin, since that's what it's color will echo. I've heard Clinton and Stacy mention that this works if you have beautiful skin (and are under 18, no doubt). So I agree with Suz, it has more to do with skin tone than hair color.

From the pic, I think it'll wash you out. If it was more of a salmon/coral color, I think it'd be better for you. Again, that's just going by the pic. You could pair it with a jacket in a better color, though...

The white/navy one looks very pretty, too, and kind of Parisian, right?

Vicki, I ordered these silk utility blouses from Talbots and they are really beautiful quality and oversized like the Equipment "Signature" blouses and so much cheaper especially on sale. In real life the Talbots' "Chinchilla" color is more like a soft champagne color, the "Makeup" more like a very soft muted blush and their Ivory is more sheer than how these colors appear on the monitor from their website. May be worth a try, especially for the price. I wear these tucked into skirts and untucked with jeans:

I agree with Suz. It matters if it's pink or peach and what skin undertone you have. But if you're fair....it might still not be the best choice. You'll need to try it on to find out for sure!
