They're a little gear-ish, but that seems to be what this whole trend is about. I'm guessing this is one of those things that will depend totally on what you put with them.

Drawstring capris and a tee shirt from your last fun run = doom.

Cute BF jeans and a dressy tank with jacket = way cool mix.

Just having tried on both the sketchers and 2 other brands of slip on sneekers, i found the go walks to be more cushy, so if you are going to do a lot of walking in them then they would be a better choice.

Alicat -- I think the Go-Walks are cute (but I am sometimes "too square to be hip"). I could see wearing them, as April suggested, with boyfriend jeans and a trendy, drapey top or tank. I also think that comfort is always a lot more fashionable than pain… and these look very comfy.

I say go for it. I saw these very shoes in Dillards (and viewed them on Zappos last week) --- they are more low profile and less bulky and very lightweight.

I live a very casual lifestyle and sadly (gladly?) these Skechers would fit in my lifestyle more than dressy loafers or more designer-y slip on sneakers. I have been looking at these Naturalizer boat shoes -- I have given advice previously to avoid "comfort brands" because they can look a bit matronly in some instances. I do think that these boat shoes are super cute (in turquoise, yellow, pink, navy or beige) and will fit right into my beach town, shorts and t-shirt kind of lifestyle.

I think they'd be cute in one of the bright colors, or navy. Please don't get that dreadful beige! I have poison eye for white sneakers.
