Ok, so Vegas is out, I guess Kristen, Kris and I will have to do that on our own someother time.
I am still hoping for SF. I have guest rooms available for anyone who wants them. I am a little over an hour out of SF:)

Taylor, if we end up in SF, I'm putting my name on one of your rooms :p I'll do your dishes, make Swedish pancakes, and take care of your kitties (yeah like kitties are ever a chore)!

Oh...and for those who can't join in personally, there could be live streaming !

Maya, I would LOVE to have you, and anyone else.....No housework involved...just fun, but those pancakes sound yummy.:) My cats will prob. want to go home with you:)

What a cool idea! A bunch of people who have never seen each travelling accross the country or the world to meet! I think I would be staying on the "empty" forum with Maya, Marianna and londonkiwi, but if I won lotto then Hong Kong would get my vote. If you all came to Marseille you could marvel over the local fashion. So many tracksuits...

This sounds like so much fun! how long would it be? 3 days? I'm sure with the right organizing, incredible deals could be obtained from hotels, similar to when you block out entire floors for weddings - I am sure hotels would be willing to offer some great things. This is a fun idea! It would take a lot of advance planning for me, but I would really try to come.

I love the enthusiasm.

Maya, I agree that the venue should be in the US. That much we have sorted! Still a toss up between Seattle, SF and Chicago. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Seattle is the forerunner at the moment.

I think it has to be Seattle. Seattle is the home of YLF x

Logistically, having it in Seattle would make planning easier for Angie.

I agree that Seattle makes sense, because it is the YLF home-base, and so many YLF forum members live there...

I'll be there if I have a job! Can Gertrude play with Rosie and Jasmine?

Just wanted to be the 100th reply to this thread...

Is this a YLF record?

It might be, April.

Without question, Marianna. YLF conventions always include pets :0)

I'm down with Seattle and pets! There might be a few kids and a husband in tow, too

The only way I could make it would be as a family trip Cathy- so you won't be alone if that is the case.
Maybe we could include a family function in the itinerary? Picnic at a park or some such family friendly event.
Since dh has expressed an interest in visiting Seattle, and I know there is camping around- it's a definite possibility for me.

Berlin or Dublin or London

Great shopping and food all around! But, Chicago would be cool, too!

Sounds like this matter has been tabled (or maybe settled?), but if NYC was ruled out primarily for budgetary reasons, I couldn't resist pointing out this reasonably priced option for accommodations, rooms are in the $80-130 price range.

http://www.thepodhotel.com/

I haven't personally stayed there, but other members of my family have (including my husband, who travels frequently on expense account and is a bit of a hotel snob and they recommend highly. It's sort of like a really upscale hostel in Midtown.

[Disclaimer: I have no connection to this establishment, its owner, etc. etc. etc.]

The cat's won't be coming ....but, no vacation without my hubby...he won;t mind all the fashion talk, purse holding, and try ons...he is used to that....this could be REALLY fun for all:)

I've been skimming this thread but here's my $0.02

I vote for Seattle (cuz I've never been and I'd love to) or Chicago (cuz its my hometown and I love it so much, I'll take any excuse to go back) or SF (cuz its an hour away and I might find a new as-yet-unexplored part of the city when I see it with all you fabulous ladies)
Keeping my fingers crossed that this pipe dream becomes a reality... =)

I vote for anywhere on the West Coast - LA, SF, SEA. I would make a point to be there!

I can't believe I have missed this forum so far. If I can get in a last minute vote: Chicago. Purely for selfish reasons.

On the one hand, I have never been to Seattle and would love to go.

On the other hand, my husband and I had a romantic weekend planned in New York in February to celebrate our 5th year of marriage, and that was the weekend the Nor'easter hit, so our flight was canceled. I would love to go back.

Chicago is central in the U.S. It is probably the most affordable of all. Just sayin'.

Oh please please, Seattle, I could make that happen!
