Fiddling around with accessories for the pants, cardi, and T-shirt. What do you think of different shoe, jewelry, belt options? I tried navy loafers, black oxfords, and white boots. Also, I realized partway through the day that the pants aren’t just black & white—there’s also a reddish thread running through them.—horizontal in this picture, vertical irl. Might have to do something with that in the future.

Maybe a round shape necklace would look more harmonious with necklines of the top and cardigan ?

I like both shoes. I would select based on weather and activity. Adding to Irina’s suggestion, sometimes I change the length of a necklace for different outfits if there are multiple spring rings. Cool belt

I like both jackets - I think the white boots are super fun and more edgy - but the black also work well.

5 and 6 is surprisingly conservative for you. I am intrigued! I like the addition of unexpected footwear in 7. Lurking quirk? Great sets.

Synne and Sal, I agree with you that the navy and black shoes were a bit more conservative than I want to go.

I wore the white boots, but no belt or jewelry. It looked fine, but with nothing “lurking” it felt kind of bland to me, even though I like the interplay of pattern/texture in the pants & cardi.

Nikki and Irina, I shall have a look through my jewelry chest for other necklaces, am already wearing this one shorter than it was designed for.

A belt was surprisingly tricky, because the loops aren’t very big.

The cardi and jacket were on and off all day, depending on temperature.

Synne, glad to see you again! I’m just starting to work on my winter style, similar to what I did with warm weather looks a couple summers ago, have done one WIW collection so far, just 3 outfits, one of which will make you roll your eyes &/or snort laugh. Please stick around!

Love the tweed. It’s a jacket that you could dress up with but it looks fab with the puffer too. Great look with the trousers and boots…quite trendy but also has a classic element to it.

I like #7 best! Super cute!

I like how the white boots pick up the white of the topper. Pulled together and interesting. I see a scarf in that outfit too. Adds a bit of dramatic drape, looks Euro, and keeps the chill out when you bike.

Maybe you can cuff the pants in #5 so that you can see your fun socks?

Angie, do you like 7 more than 2? They’re the same except for the belt & necklace. Maybe I needed to follow CC’s advice? Neat idea to try cutting these pants.

I see a scarf instead of a necklace. I prefer the streamlined simplicity sans belt and necklace of #7- let's the pattern mixing do the talking.

Cool textures/patterns. I like the white boots the best! They really pick up the white in the cardigan nicely. Loafers are good too, but solidly in classic territory. I don't think you're a "fashion sneaker" person, but I bet a white-soled sneaker would look great too. I don't think you need the necklace or the belt, but that tends to be my approach to styling these days: RAA (Remove All Accessories).

I love the contrast between the Chanel-esque cardi and the white combat boots! Super cool juxtaposition.

I also really like the similar textures of the cardi and pants. That combination can carry the outfit, as others are also saying.

The necklace seems a bit small and wan in comparison— to my eye it doesn’t really stand up to the rest of the outfit. (I’m sure it would be lovely in a different context!)

Just for fun, you could try a pile of pearls maybe! Play up the Chanel reference and bookend the white of the boots. That would kick the punk/ladylike juxtaposition up another notch.

How many strands is a pile, and how much like real pearls do they have to look? I have one elegant strand of good pearls, and a long (think flapper girl) string of fun fakes.

I think a combo of good pearls and fun fakes is just fine! Your resources sound promising. I'd put on the good pearls and then double/triple/whatever looks good to you the flapper pearls and see what you think. I think it just has to have enough presence to bookend the boots. So prob not one strand of wee pearls but prob don't need gobs and gobs.
