I feel like I have a pretty good handle on my work style, but I must admit to feeling flummoxed by casual dressing. I've been trying to be as consistent about taking pictures of my casual outfits as I am with my work clothes, and have been frequently disappointed by how the pictures looked in comparison to how I thought the outfits looked in the mirror. Add to that, my two dear boys (husband and son) keep pointing out any time they think I look too "dressy" for a casual day running errands or going to the park and a girl can get a bit of a complex!!

A couple of Angie's recent posts have really helped me define my casual style goals. Most important to me is comfort on the weekends. I spend my work week pretty dressed up and I want my weekends to be comfortable (the occasional dressy occasion or date night excepted). The slouchy skinny jean and the BF jean are brilliant answers to the comfort quest! I'm finding that the slim fitting bottom and the slouchy voluminous top is a silhouette I find extremely comfortable. But with my apple shape, is it flattering?

Pictures 1-5: A few recent casual outfits that I felt turned out okay. #3 was my attempt at Angie's recent formula and it's okay, but not my favorite. #5 is my favorite of the bunch I think, although I still scratch my head over appropriate cropped/rolled pant lengths.

Pictures 6-7: I went to Marshall's (not willing to invest a lot in my casual style yet) and sized up on a pair of skinny jeans. Super comfortable. I know they aren't quite as slouchy as Angie's, but I'm pretty sure these are a keep. I also picked up the two tops in 6/7 - I really like the first camel one. Not so sure about the grey/red striped top. I'd actually envisioned it with substantial leggings and tall boots. It's a small - does it look way too big? Or appropriately slouchy? I'll probably wear a tank underneath.

Thanks for your thoughts! Observations, comments, suggestions for improvement welcome and much appreciated.
