Was off today, so spent some quality time in my closet!

Pic 1- this is all my winter and summer clothes that currently fit, excepting coats, gear, sleepwear, and the 2 pieces at the tailor. I start my rainbow with olive green after black and brown- looks more harmonious that way to me!

Pic 2- raincoats, which I may still need, and summer/mild weather holding zone. I'm keeping them out to remember to try them periodically. Winter hz things are in my cedar chest, along with coats. My next house Will have a coat closet!

Pic 3- I Tarragoed the problematic mules again. Also I cleaned/polished all my boots and booties (several are at the cobbler).
I also tidied up my drawers too, and ironed (yes really) some things.
Now I have a rather large sack of clothes to donate!

Do Not let me say I have no clothes!

Thanks all! It will look a lot less cluttered when I can take my winter clothes out. My next house Will have a bigger closet...

I always wonder where to put my high color contrast (like blue with orange) prints. I used to group all the prints at the end but it looked too chaotic.

Sorting by color just looks the most restful to my eye- but since I've done that I pretty much just buy solids!
My palette will shift a lot then, as a lot of my summer things are on the left and right sides- black, rust, beige- without so much cool colors in the middle.

Lovely closet! I use the prints to transition from one colour to another. For example the floral with a navy background is the transition from navy to red, and the pale yellow hoodie with darker yellow, tan, and olive is the transition from olive to browns. Sometimes it is stuff that is just close enough!

A rainbow closet in particular always tickles my fancy - like you, brown is a core neutral in my wardrobe But my chocolate browns start after purple - love how our rainbows are both Deep Autumn inspired but personalised slightly differently!

I always admire others' colours in the wardrobe as I don't wear a lot of colour. Your closet looks very organised ...it must make you feel good.

Thanks all! I'm glad I started organizing by color, not type of garment. It makes dressing easier!
I definitely want to add more dark browns Zaeobi, especially for winter, and move away from black as my primary neutral. At least there's Kettlewell, so it could be more do-able.

Yes, brown isn't the most trendy neutral these days, so finding brown items takes time (can you believe that I'm *still* on the hunt for a lightweight but opaque brown cotton long sleeved top?), but I'm slowly getting there. Kettlewell always tempts me for that reason (I've bought from them in the past), but most of their items used synthetic blends (modal/ polyester/ viscose etc) the last I checked. Good luck to us both!

Congratulations on a job well done. Enjoy.. interesting comment on prints vs plain. I also mostly but plain colors and feel I could use more prints especially for summer. My prints are mostly scarves.
