Which wool scarf for travel capsule?

I love to wear a scarf for warmth when I'm travelling and definitely prefer wool. I just love my big plaid wool scarf, but it's too big to wear with the rain jacket. I need something more lightweight and more summery. I don't want it to look too off with a thin pullover or T-Shirt either. I had a look and found two scarves online - big enough but not too big and they don't look too heavy either.

I'm just not quite sure about the colors on the one in #1, they could be too warm? I also found another one in greyish blues, which I think would be pretty with the rest of the colors. But there are solid blocks of color again...

Do you think one of these could work? Also for afterwards? I don't need to bring a new scarf, I guess I could do without one if necessary. Or I could keep looking.

(The grey longsleeves T-shirt I ordered didn't work out btw. Much too flimsy.)

The travel capsule still is a work in progress, so there are quite a few things missing or there might still be some switches.

Just wanted to add that I would probably take this cotton scarf if I decided not to get a new scarf scarf. Although I'd prefer wool to cotton.

With this capsule I prefer the blue one. Plus the lighter color is more summery.

I wonder if you might consider one with more white in it? I also like to bring a lightweight wool scarf when I travel and in the summer I like my black and white print one best. It goes with everything and the white makes it look more summer-appropriate.

Thanks Diana! You're right, the blue is more summery. I had found another one with white and black I posted to start with, but I don't think I like the pattern.

I love the cotton one in your WIW and I prefer the blue/grey one for your travel capsule.

Thanks Kelly. I do like the cotton scarf, It's over ten years old and still in my wardrobe after all. But it's heavy and at the same time not so warm.

I loveth the scarf in picture 1...I have a pashmina that is a cashmere blend and is ivory....It is old and I use it for travel...That little sweetie has taken me wherever warm and is always presentable...I would find one that is warm...Cotton while it is lovely can be less than cosy when you need it to be...Good luck as you search...

I think the second blue one is a slam dunk with your travel capsule, but something with a print and some lightness might feel better and more variable.

Lighter is best, I agree, although I love #1 for autumn!

You may want to consider cashmere tissue weight or silk/cashmere blend. It would have a bit more of the wool feel and is drapery. A little more expensive, but more versatile and multi seasonal. I wrap them tighter if cold and loosely in summer....and travel with one always, more than any of my other (many) scarves. Sorry don't have time to link, but take a look at Nordies.....I've bought them there before.

I like the second scarf best for your travel capsule. Just be careful with really light weight wool that it doesn't snag easily.

Thanks K2! Good quality cashmere is too expensive for me right now. Also Nordstrom is not an option because of international shipping costs and time.

I like the 2nd one. While it's just blocks of colour, it will add architectural and textural interest to your travel capsule. I also think it's more versatile.....it will pair easily with both solid colors and patterns.

I tend to pick patterned/printed scarves as well, and then struggle to mix the patterns with my top.

Thanks Maneera! I think I'm going to order the second one and give it a trial with my clothes for real. I can always return it if it doesn't work out like I think.
