Light Heels and Winter: Seasonally Confused?

So, by a strange fluke, a pair of booties that I bought and loved this summer, but returned as too expensive, and which had sold out, were suddenly available as a once-off on 6pm.com. I ordered them because they felt like a great nude bootie for me to bookend my blonde hair.

However...they have a light wood heel, which I generally associate with summer. That is, until I started wearing light footwear year round because it bookends. Now I'm wondering if the boots will look strange worn in the winter. For the record, I'm not bothered by it and I'm not worried about them getting ruined in the rain and slush.

What do you think?

With your hair color, yes. Though I'd stick to lighter sweater or topper to be safe.

Are they Swedish Hasbeens? I love those - and think they look really great in winter with a soft chunky sock peeking out. That Scandanavian influence that is soooo cool! I think you just have to make sure your outfit makes sense with them - a coloured coat, scarf , gloves etc

I have these Frye wingtip oxfords. The heels look like the heels on the boots you posted, but they are leather, not wood.

ETA: I think they look fine in winter.

Whoops - totally disregard my message above. I didn't see the pictures when I started writing. I can also chime in on this regard though - I have some just like this - from Rag & Bone - and wore them to DEATH last winter. My favourite boots bar none. Totally seasonally appropriate. I wore mine with dresses - and taupe/greyish tights, or with jeans.

Totally fine with your hair colour.

I tend not to wear my light taupe booties in winter purely due to weather issues. (I.e. they are not good outdoors for me). Plus, the style I have has a wide opening and can't be worn with skinnies, only rolled BFs or skirts/ shorts, so that is another reason. I'm actually in search of light taupe booties like this that I CAN wear in the fall.

And I wanna see yours, mwaaaaaaaaa!!!!

So, it seems as if the consensus here is "YES!" so far, especially for blondes.

Another yes here. The heel goes nicely with the boot color. It might be a different question if it were a darker boot with a light heel.
Funny, I was just considering a similar question about a pair of oxfords I received today--they are light colored with a light sole and heel, and I wondered about whether they would work for me year-round. I will post on them soon, once I get another contender in. . . .

I wear mine from autumn to spring, not in summer here as it is too hot...
I love them with black outfits and a lighter scarf or with jeans or with a dress.

However in NZ there are not the cultural norms about colour that I see you have in the US...anything really goes!

I have sprayed mine with a protector and whilst I avoid wearing them on days I know will be wet, they are in great shape after two seasons of wear.

I'd wear something with heels like that in the winter without even thinking twice. I feel like I see enough boots with heels like that that I just think of it as a perfectly normal thing.

I like light heels in that they make a bootie look less heavy. I see no problem with the seasons .

No need to stick to lighter tops to my eye. Bookending with a lighter belt works well too.

I personally don't love a light sole/heel on boots *for me* but that's probably because I have dark hair and prefer the dark heel for a sleeker look and bookending.

I think it is totally seasonal when worn with other appropriate items--not so much dark, as "cozy"--wooly sweaters, layers, tights in cold weather, or lighter fabrics but kind of cozy autumn colors in warmer fall weather. Those nude boot colors are especially suitable IMO because of the warm natural tones--as compared to, say, mint. ( Not dissing pastels in winter, just that the light neutral is so versatile). At the extreme, you can do kind of winter whiteout with all creamy tones, or just use fall tones in a range of colors--rusts, purples; and other tones of brown, and leather tones, that go with your particular shoe color tone.

And the Yays have it, with nary a dissenting voice to be heard! Hooray! Seems like I will be happily and confidently wearing my light heeled boots this autumn and winter.
