Wondering about Madewell

Jcrew just launched their sister site, Madewell.com and I'm eyeing some of the items, especially the rail straight jeans. Has anyone shopped there? I'm 54 a size US 6 and usually shop Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, JCrew, Anthropologie.

Lynne, I had not heard of Madewell but took a look after reading your post. They do have some nice things (though I'm laughing pretty hard at the "Sumatra shirtdress" that comes in ONE SIZE). I particularly like this vest, and the fact that it's $78 tells me I'd better stay off this site!

I've liked the stuff I've seen. The sizing is more BR/Anthro (I'm a 4/6) than J Crew/AT (I'm a 2/4).

Madewell has actually been around for a while (1 or 2 years), they even have their own stores, but did not have a shopping website till now. It is a J Crew spin off targeted towards younger demography ( the opposite of American Eagle/ Marin&Osa).

The quality is quite comparable with J Crew, while the sizes tend to run a bit smaller.

We don't have a Madewell store where I live, so I was excited to see the online option at last. I might just have to take a leap of faith and go ahead and order. There is a knit moto jacket that has my name on it.
