Watching Women's World Cup?

Anyone watching? I like women's soccer so much better than men's. Those guys are such fakers! Always pretending they're hurt, and then they pop up in miraculous recovery as soon as the stretcher hits the sidelines! Hehe.

As a canadian, my DD and I watched around supper time. The canadian girls won in a penalty shot, was awesome

No - But I don't watch any team sport unless a family member is playing it!! (DD has just started playing soccer at the relatively old age of 9 and occassionally gets to touch the ball!)

My husband's been watching, but he watches 5 things at once and keeps flipping the channels so I can't really watch with him - it drives me mad. I did catch a bit of it and it does look much more compelling than men's soccer.

Yes! I'm in the same boat as Linda. Only it's a movie he's already seen, golf and basketball or baseball. He flipped to the WC game last night but only briefly. I'll be recording the games I want to see and watch them after he goes to bed!

Yes! After the men winning the last World Cup there's a lot more attention on our women as there used to be. They're even showing games live on national TV.

I was surprised to see free network tv coverage here. I'm not sure what it will be like this week... I hope the women don't starting acting like the men. The commentators said some things that make me worry on this front...

oh and Germany is gonna win Looking at ease... altho, there are some injuries I guess to worry about...

We always have some sort of sport playing on the tv around here. I've seen bits and pieces but my male counterparts here in the family are such enormous fans of male soccer and matches (ie Italy &. Spain) that they grumble when the girls play (I know, eye roll). All the more reason to put it on, in my opinion. Especially as the host nation!

I guess they can do it because most games are in the middle of the night anyway, not prime time. I watched Sweden vs. Nigeria yesterday, but then I really needed to catch some sleep...

Absolutely! I learned about soccer when my daughter spent years on a travelling competitive team. Now we record the games so she can come over and watch with me. And women's soccer does have SO many fewer fouls (cough) than men's soccer.

It is all about the U20 World Cup Football/Soccer here which is being held in NZ. NZ are playing Portugal right now in my hometown (I am painting walls at home) but we are going to the Quarter Final on Sunday afternoon.

I haven't caught the women's one this time around!
