So I got my new bag today and I'm trying to figure out my summer capsule. The bag is a python embossed Etienne Aigner leather bag with all the features I wanted. This bag is a larger size than my other bags (on purpose, they were feeling crowded and too small for my frame), zip top, "neutral" color scheme, long strap option. Outside pockets and good interior pockets. And bolder style - for me at least. I don't often wear very bold clothing so this is like a statement piece. lol. But it's not really all that bold. And it''s got a casual vibe that I like. It ended up being more "natural, classic" which I think is pretty much my style.
I wanted to try and see some potential summer outfits and how the bag would work. I like it - and thanks to Claire's WIWs for the idea of a python bag as I probably would never have looked at them before seeing how flexible it has been for her!
I appreciate any feedback, suggestions.
#1 This is the boldest of outfits for going out on hot summer nights where I may be outdoors on a patio, etc. I like the mix of the brown/black print on the bag with the red and black. I wear a lot of mixed metal necklaces or bracelets, usually in a natural style. But what do you all think? Am I crazy to mix red, black and brown/black python?
#2 These are typical tops and shorts I wear on a daily basis. One is sort of hidden but it's a gathered knot brown sleeveless top. All very neutral so I think the bag is fine with these.
#3 I wanted to see how the bag might work with blue in the mix since I do own blue shorts, tops and blue jeans of course. Does the stripe top work? It's kind of an oatmeal and deep heather blue stripe. The mixed brown top (trapeze style tank) would be my other attempt at pattern mixing with this bag. Does it work?
#4 Some of the more nature inspired type jewelry I like to wear - and I actually like the bag with an all white outfit too - can't really see that in the photo. It makes a nice "pop" to me.
Thanks for looking!
