Here is one of the skirts orphaned by too many choices and not enough sun....since the skirt is patterned I choose simple white for a sporty look. I haven't picked shoes yet but thinking taupe neutral gladiator sandals. I love this color red. Any better ideas on a topper?

Love the skirt - perfect for summer! And the taupe gladiator sandals would be perfect with this outfit.
As for suggestions for new tops - what about a chambray/light denim shirt with rolled sleeves and a semi-tuck? Or even a light blue T in the same style as the white - I love red and light blue together.

Great summer look! I love the white and red together and the gladiators would look great. I have so many skirts that are closet orphans as well because I can't figure out what tops to wear. I like the idea of the chambray shirt. Or how about a brown or light grey top?

Great skirt; it looks very much like one of my summer workhorses, except mine is a blue/navy/white ikat print. I wear mine like I would a pair of shorts: with a host of different color T's and tops.

While the white is so fresh and pretty, why not use your skirt as a fun way to explore mixing different colors and patterns. While I'm definitely on Team Neutral and usually avoid pattern mixing like the plague, I found it was fun to take baby steps in the summer with my skirt and mix it with orange, green, turquoise, purple--you get the idea--tops; some even had a bit of a pattern (living dangerously there!). Your taupe sandals would go with any of these combos.

Lovely printed skirt. I like the white t for a simple casual look now. You can always add a denim jacket if you are chilly. And in the fall you can swap the t-shirt for a white button down and add some tall brown boots for fall. Versatile skirt!

thanks for the ideas....really like Gaylene's suggestion to do some color popping! I have this same skirt in navy background also....doubled up and found no time to wear either of them before now.

Do you gals really think I can wear it into all at this length? Seems a bit short to me?

I think the length is perfect for a casual summer skirt. I wear mine just a smidge above the knee and I'm in my 60s. If it was a "serious" skirt, I'd wear it longer, but I've always thought casual, summer skirts look best if they are short and kicky-- more like an alternative to shorts than an "I'm getting dressed up" look. If I think of it that way, it's easier to think of styling it as a casual, everyday, wear-around-the-house-and-yard look.

A gauzy white button-up would be fun with this too, IMO. And you could play with other colour options too. In the meanwhile, I do like it with the simple white T.

You've already gotten lots of great suggestions! This skirt is kind of "boden-like." What about layering with an anorak or military style khaki or tan jacket? Or a turquoise or yellow top, for a iittle "pow." Or, maybe wear as is (with the white) and add the unexpected color in the accessories.

I'm working on some orphans myself........you're inspiring me!

Very cute skirt, agree it's quite Boden. Look at their catalog online for inspiration! I think a curved line at the waist (half-tuck or curved hem) looks best with these skirts that cut straight across the leg. You look so summery!
