WIW: Where Did Autumn Go?

Hi Ladies,

Our weather has gotten warm again so we are all back in our summer outfits!

Todays outfit at work.

Mix skirt, Target top and red I Love Billy flats.

and red wooden necklace from Africa. This outfit was part of the hot weather capsule I developed inspired by Sarah's suggestions, only I opted for skirts rather than Bermudas:)

Was yesterday's outfit for the Grace Kelly exhibition. It's a Jeans West dress with zipper detail on the shoulders and a handmade fabric Obi belt. Photo taken before make up and accessories tho :(. Having second thoughts about this dress which is edging its way closer to the donate pile.

Well Angie do you think you could mention Autumn is wanted here:). I am so over the warmer weather, well actually my summer wardrobe! I am really looking forward to being able to layer and get more wear out of my coloured jeans.

If you don't mind my asking, what aren't you liking about the dress?

Jewell it's a bit of a flimsy fabric and I think having introduced color into my wardrobe and not feeling basic black is as flattering? Perhaps a coloured scarf or jewellery might make me feel better in it?

I see. I was wondering because it looks versatile and fits well. I could totally see this dress with a vibrant belt or an animal print one. The cowl neckline lends itself to pairing with colorful scarves or a piece of statement jewelry. And I can relate to the recent wardrobe transformation. I've made similar changes (purging black and adding color) to my own closet over the past several months.

I adore #1. It is what I think of as a quintessential Deborah look and is so chic, not to mention practical. Love that skirt! #2 looks wonderful, too, and I know from the earlier pics how pretty you were in it.

Both outfits look great. My concern with the dress would be that the scoop neck would be falling off my shoulder all the time, but it that is not a problem for you I think it is a great looking basic.

Beautiful outfits with interesting visual textures and proportions, as always. You know, #1 probably looks peppier with the colour and pattern, but I really liked #2 too for understated chic. Would adding larger earrings and a bright bag help?

You are so consistent in your fabness, Deborah! I'd try bolder, more structured accessories with #2 -- I like it well as is, but you usual sport a little more color. I love the belt -- do you have another outfit to pair it with?
