I am a certified holiday/festive clothing but, but this is a short holiday season and I actually have few events to attend beyond a couple next week. I am trying to incorporate my festive pieces (not too dressy) into my work wardrobe.

I do have some skirt/dress options that I am not feeling this year because I am not feeling skirts and dresses so much right now. Those are useful pieces in my dressier capsule that I will hold on to, but I need to do some outfit creation around pants & jeans outfits.

First up, here are my WIW's since I returned to work, which integrate some seasonal vibes:

1. Boden stripe top, Kut corduroys and the Gore-tex Chucks
2-3. Halogen jacket, J Crew tee, Wit & Wisdom bootcut jeans, and Pikolinos booties (plus Kate Spade bag)
4-5. J Crew shirt, Madewell demi-bootcuts (new and I decided not to hem them to true cropped length because they new full length on me, which is nice for winter), Gore-Tex Chucks
6-7. AT sweater and jeans, Born booties. It actually felt weird to wear true skinnies again. These jeans are new and I won't get rid of them, but the rise is not super high and so I decided not to semi-tuck the sweater.
8. I was going for a festive meets grunge look here but I think I missed the mark. I'd switch out the jeans for darker ones if I were doing it over; or maybe a shorter topper. Old LOFT top, BR cardi, J Crew jeans, and tartan Doc Martens.

In the finds below are some festive items I am considering for events next week. My thoughts:

-For my office Christmas party, the tartan shirt with black jeans and maybe the Chucks (haven't arrived and been assessed yet).

-For a Christmas concert at a museum, the velvet pants and matching top as a sort of jumpsuit, with either this rose gold & navy topper or a red topper. However, I also got these loafers, which are pewter. I wanted to wear them to the museum since I need COMFY festive shoes right now. (I am not sure if the metals will clash, or if I care if the metals will clash - that is only something I've thought about since coming to YLF. Anyway, I have gold sneakers and gold loafers I could wear instead.)

-I was also thinking of basically switching top halves of these outfits between the two events (velvet cami & sparkly cardi with jeans, tartan top with black velvet pants). I also have tartan pants to throw into the mix somewhere, though I don't think I'd opt for a full tartan outfit even though I am clearly a lunatic about that pattern; I may wear those with another outfit entirely, just to work.

-I feel like color-wise, the sparkly cardi is a real wildcard with my other festive items, but it's so pretty and I want to keep it.

Lots of mix and match potential here. You can probably expect an outfit lab this weekend.
