Two outfits from this week….a bit subtle but quite maximalist for me. What do you think?
Outfit 1, pics 1, 2, 3 (shows jacket closed), and 4
Talbots straight leg jeans
B/W print top
N&Z Sweater
EF peplum blazer
Via Spiga Monkstrap black loafers
Dooney & Bourke tote in burgundy “signature 1975” pattern
Fossil watch and an inexpensive sparkly black bracelet, worn with my UP band step tracker.
The maximalist factors are texture (sheen of the jacket, partly suede shoes, glitzy bracelet) high contrast (the white top showing under the red sweater), the 4 colors (black, white, red, navy) and patterns (the top and the bag both have patterns.). Also threw in a little waist definition (the jacket) and ‘70s feel (wrap sweater, partly suede shoes, and the fact that “1975” is printed on the bag in little tiny letters. The sweater layered over the over the top was a bit fussy and I had to keep adjusting it to get it to lie right, but otherwise I really liked the outfit.
Outfit 2: Pic 5
Lucky skinny jeans (hard to see but I rolled them so there is a thin sliver of skin showing)
B/W paisley top
EF moto sweater
cognac booties,
melon scarf.
same burgundy bag
It's so warm today i'll probably have to take off the sweater
Maximalist factors: multiple prints, lots of color.
Bonus pic 6 - an olive fringed vest I'm considering but haven't found the right top to wear with it yet. Not maximalist yet....
Other than the olive vest, these were entirely "shop my closet" outfits. Quite a surprise, in a good way!
