WIW: Walking Date - YouLookFab Forum

It's a busy weekend for both my partner and I. He had freelance work to do while I took the Saturday off to relax (It's been a stressful 9 months!) and do some cleaning at home. Tomorrow, he works again while I'm spending the evening working on my school project for my class (I'm a part time student with a full time job).

We both decided to just take the night off our busy schedules to go out on a casual dinner and walking date. It happened to be a city-wide art event so there's some exciting energy in the streets and many people walking around. It was really nice and simple dates like these are what I love about our relationship.

So here's what I wore. I took my Naot Gema's for a spin. The verdict? They're DEFINITELY NOT walking shoes, but they were far more comfortable than most shoes I've ever had. I'd wear them to my desk job, but not on my walking dates. Time to look out for walkable shorter Naots

Wow, you look spectacular! I love that purple top. It's gorgeous on you with the moody blues. I need to check out Reitman's more often. I have a feeling they stock more sophisticated stuff now along the lines of what the sister store, Cassis, used to carry before they closed. Yet I always forget to check them out. Thanks for the reminder.

What a shame about the shoes. In the photo they look really good. Maybe they will wear in. I got a pair of booties from Zara that hurt like heck my first few wears and gave me awful blisters. But I wore them yesterday and they were just fine.

The date you describe is my idea of fun! But I had to laugh at the conjunction of "relaxing" and "cleaning." Ha! A woman's work is never done!

@Suz: Reitmans is definitely much more sophisticated (and edgier) than it was a few years ago. There are a few sweaters and jackets I'm looking to try on from there.

The shoes are not terribly painful, but they are 2.75 inch heels with a 0.5 inch platform. That leaves 2.25 total heel height which is still slightly high for me (1.5 to 2 inches is my sweet spot). It would still be very comfortable for work but it won't be ideal for times where I'll be walking around the city.

And relaxing and cleaning; yes! There's something therapeutic about cleaning for me. When I procrastinate, I clean!
