The red coat is far cuter. I totally agree. It works for a cold, dry walk. It also works for non-dog parts of life...errands, work, play, etc. Downsides for me: even though it's washable, I'd pout if I had to wash it every time I went to the dog park (all the dogs jump from lap to lap when they get tired of playing tag). The lack of hood and being unclear whether or not it is waterproof is also less than I would like. The inside pocket is also not at all secure for phone or keys.
The black one is far more utilitarian than cute. It is not something I would wear outside of dog stuff, except maybe to a cold, wet football game. However, I think it checks all the boxes...it has a hood, it's waterproof, it is super warm AND super light, it fits over a loungewear hoodie, it has 4 secure pockets, the darker color means fewer washings, and finally, I think the thicker material will stand up better to doggie toenails at the park.
My husband thinks I should get the red one because it looks better and just not do the dirty/wet stuff. To me, if I'm going to get something that doesn't meet the dirty/wet needs, I may as well just wear something I have.
Have my ugly sneakers sent me over the edge into function over form land?
