WIW: Trench Challenge and Another

I am late posting this due to lack of internet access. We are in Montreal and the apartment we are renting has very poor internet. However, here are 2 outfits. One is with my trench and one is the next day. Both are taken in Ottawa where we stopped for the night.

I have worn my Burberry Trench and Esser Jeans quite a bit the past week.

Hair is really needing a cut. I did the bangs myself! Yikes!

Do those Birks have a soft footbed? I was comparing some with Mephistos, which had nice footbeds but needed a half size

Thank you, Suntiger! Birks do make a soft footbed but the Gizeh that I have are not the soft ones. My Arizona copper ones are soft. I prefer the soft footbeds.
I am between sizes in Mephistos too. Birks fit me perfectly.

Boo My skinny feet would slide right through those Arizonas, and I like the look of the Gizehs more.

So sad Suntiger. Arizonas do come in 2 widths. Skinny and Regular. I don't know if the soft footbed comes in other Birks styles.

Lovely trench coat, Style Fan. I love the rusty colours of the scarf with the med blue of your shirt in Pic #2 - and pardon me for sounding like a broken record, but aren't your Jessi Kamms rust coloured?! Have you worn the blue button down with them?

Carla, you have a keen eye and do not sound like a broken record! Not one bit! I have worn the J Crew shirt with my Jesse Kamm pants. I tie the waist in a knot. I brought the Kamm pants with me to Montreal. All my tops and bottoms go together now. Must be my Mathematics background! I like the sense of order in my wardrobe.

Stylefan, your trench styling is beautiful. Regarding Berk’s, I prefer the soft footbed Florida’s, which look similar to the Arizona’s except they have three thinner horizontal straps. Mephisto do not work well for me, and Arizona’s fit, but look very clunky on my feet.

DS recently completed a college semester in Montreal. We enjoyed a very brief overnight in the city while picking him up. I tasted Poutine for the first time at La Banquise. DS stayed in an apartment on the edge of Old Montréal, and he gave us a nice but too brief tour of the area. I would love to go back!

Poutine! My brother came to visit us when we were here a few years ago and wanted to find the best place in Montreal for Poutine. He said it was very good. Somewhere on Mount Royal.
Your DS's apartment is in a beautiful area. We stay in the Plateau right on Square Saint Louis except this time. This was an unexpected trip. We are staying in Little Italy.

Gigi, I love bangs. I finally researched on YouTube and other sources how to trim my own. I have professional scissors. Cut little bits on an angle and keep checking.

Stylefan, DS took a food writing class as an elective while he was in Montreal. The instructor, a native of the city, a chef, and also someone who apparently had worked as a food critic for many years, took them to many places that were suitable for a college budget and metabolism! DH and I had to go for a long walk after eating the Poutine......it was a lot! While walking I took note of what people were wearing. For whatever reason, my mind was mostly on shoes, and I noticed men with beautiful scarves wrapped around their necks, young and old. The women were wearing flats, sneakers and instead of heels, platform sneakers were everywhere. The platform part really stood out because I do not see many of them where I live. I was wearing my Ecco soft 7’s, cropped jeans and a TNF polar fleece half zip with a plain tee underneath, all practical for moving DS belongings.

SF, that sounds like an interesting course that your son took. Montreal has so many great places to eat. I love to also look at what people are wearing when I go there. The men and the women are so stylish. Scarves are indeed popular.
