WIW: To The Biggest Little Theater Festival

Our community theater is having a theater festival this weekend. The plays are locally written, about one hour in length, and vary a lot in quality. Last year one we saw went to the Fringe Festival in NYC. Last night we went to one, had dinner, and then went to another one. One was excellent, and the other one could have benefited from a lot of editing!

I am just now starting to wear leggings. The sweater is from NAS, the leggings are faux denim, Frye Campus boots, and a thrifted scarf. I carried a cognac wristlet, but kept it in my coat pocket.

I like it. I think the column of color it creates with the navy and denim similarly colored it flattering, livened up with the accessories. I have difficulty (mentally) with leggings unless I’m wearing tall boots plus longer top. it shortens the legging visibility, and of course is super comfy.

This is great. The column of color, and then the scarf making that vertical line, and bookended by the boots and scarf are really nice.
That festival sounds like an amazing opportunity for the playwrites! Do attendees write reviews or comments to the authors or anything like that?

Delurked, thank you. I agree with you about the top and boots. My first leggings were the plaid ones, and then I needed to figure out a top since I didn't have anything tunic length. I wore them with oxfords and I didn't like it.

Fashiontern, thank you. The festival is really fun. One was about aspects of tribal life, and the actors were local Native Americans. It was interesting because of their different perspective on modern culture. The one that went to the NYC Fringe Festival last year was really good, written by a local guy, who was not a playwright in his regular life.

Great outfit for our fall weather. The navy is a perfect background for the boots and scarf together, and the textures keep it interesting without competing. You are wearing my favorite colors.

Perfect for fall and the whole look on you. We used to enjoy the local theatre in Kansas City with some excellent locally written plays. Several went on to New York City or California. Tonight we are going to the Symphony and Bolero! It was a beautiful sunny day in the mid 50's but cooling off quickly.

Joy, thank you. I went to our local philharmonic this week with our 87 YO neighbor. It was lovely - some Brahms, Sibelius, and a special piece written in honor of a local citizen who was a Holocaust survivor. We're lucky, we have a pretty good arts scene for a town our size.

Shevia, thank you. The festival is very fun. We went again last night to hear seven or eight local poets. Their poems were modern (non rhyming), but very moving at times.

Barbara Diane, thank you. I was going to wear a different scarf but then thought this one worked better colorwise.
