WIW to my son's concert

I am on a roll posting WIW. We went to our son's high school concert. It is not the symphony hall kind and audience mostly parents and siblings dress very casual. I wanted to dress a little more than casual after all the kids are in tux and long gowns. I am not sure about the length of theses ponte pants. They are petite and I am only 5'2". But should I get regular or they are supposed to be short?

Love the tux style trousers and you picked the perfect shoes for the length. The fab necklace/collar is perfect and elevates the outfit to perfect dressy/casual. Very well done, Shirley.

Love the blue of the sweater and the gorgeous necklace!!! The pants look like ankle pants to me and they work very well here with the flats.

Thanks for your complements. These pants barely hit my ankle bone so I was wondering if it's better to go with a regular size. I ordered these online without trying and otherwise they fit well. Next time maybe worthwhile to try both petite and regular. Does anyone else have these pants?
They are from this season.

The pants look like they're intended to be ankle length. In that case, I think the ankle bone should be exposed. Your shoes are a fabulous choice!

What a fabulous outfit! Love it just in itself, and I love it especially for the purpose. I think you hit the right note of festive but casual enough not to seem as if you are trying too hard.

What Beth Ann said about the pants -- they're meant to expose the ankle bone. Your shoes work perfectly with these.

Superb! I really like this outfit on you and agree with all the others that the pant length is perfect for a peak of ankle and highlighted by the pointy flat shoe.

What I'm so impressed with is how you so thoughtfully picked an outfit that would up the ante from casual to evening sparkle for your son's concert. Well done!

I really have YLF to thank for coming up with this outfit. The bib necklace is quite bold for me but I really don't want to go in jeans and a T shirt. Angie's blog post on festive sweaters gave me the idea. This sweater is not that festive but I think the necklace made up for it.

You look fantastic! Simple and elegant with a little bit of sparkle. I think the pants look great. For myself, I do like to try the longer lengths too for comparison. For example, I have the BR Sloan slim ankle pants in regular and tall because, on me, the ankle exposure was stumpifying even though that is how the pants are intended to be worn.

I also wore this same outfit with a pair of black ankle boots and denim jacket to a boys choir concert at a university recital hall a week ago.. That was a more formal occasion but still appropriate compared to others in the audience.
