WIW to build a medieval village and slog in the slush

Yesterday I did a few errands in our remaining snow/slush so I put the Hunters on for dryness. I also used Modgrl's and Keruchina's inspirations:

Helped DS build a Lego Medieval village. Very comfy
I have scarf tying issues, but the elements here are:
Paige skinny jeans, Shade striped tee, LE Cardigan, Hunter Brown boots, Recycled silk scarf (looking scraggly, but it is colorful)

Great outfit for snow and slush. I've never needed rain boots and always enjoy the outfits people put together with them. I live in a part of the country that only gets 9 inches of rainfall a year and now we are in a drought and last year only got about 4 inches. No need for rain gear!

I miss the Lego days, too. I love the rich jewel tones of your cardigan - you look great! How do you like your Paige skinnies? I just bought a pair (my very first premium denim) and really like them. I wore them all day today without the slightest bit of bagging - yay!

Fruitful and Shevia- I have to admit the Medieval village was more for me than DS. I'm sure once it's complete all worlds will collide as Lego Dinos and Star Wars attack the poor villagers. At least with this one DS lets me build with him (well I get to sort and pick, but it's something)

Deborah I love my Paige Skinnies. They are the Peg Straight fit and are perfect, soft, great length for tucking or not and do not stretch out too much. I found them at the Rack for $40 and would snap up more if I could find some. They seem to be a discontinued fit and the Hidden Hills don't fit me in the waist at all.

Zapotee I hope you like your boots as much as I like mine. I thought it was a bit expensive (even if I got mine at 6pm for $85) for rain boots but I do really love them and don't plan to ever have to replace them.

Sara we get a lot of rain and not a lot of snow (except every 6 years or so) so I think I'll get a lot of use from these. I don't think I'd have splurged if I never had an occasion to break them out.

Suz you are right I was comfy (inside I had slippers on but my argyle socks had all the colors of the sweater, scarf and top.

Kelly you are one of my style icons so that is a great compliment.

I love Lego - any kind. My son is 16 now and I still have every piece we ever bought! What fun building Medieval village - can I come play at your house???

JJ - haha! I love that the Medieval Village was more for you! I bought myself a vintage 1984 Lego castle once - my son sure got to build it and use it, but it's MINE!!! ^_^

Ok, I told my son about the medieval village and now he is obsessed. Surely he is not the only 9 yr old who loves to watch lego building clips?

Shevia, don't get him started watching the lego stop motion animations on Youtube - it'll never end (think, Monty Python Holy Grail in lego - bwahahaha!)

My son is 8.5 and we haven't watched lego building clips but I think he may want to, thanks for the suggestion ^_^

My son wants to go to camp this summer where they make a Lego Stop action film! He watches them all the time. He likes the ones that are like films and watches the building ones for hours as well so Shevia you are not alone!

JJ what an incredibly wonderful activity to offer on a camp! My son would love that. When he was a bit younger he tried to make Lego videos holding them in his hands and making them fight lol!

It's so nice to hear how much your son loves Lego. It's surprising but we only know a few other boys who are as into it. I think it's partly different personalities/interests, but i do wonder if some kids are saturated in scheduled and digital activities so early there's no space left for hands on stuff. Lego takes time.

Sorry for derailing your fab WIWs! I hope your son gets to make his own lego movies one day ^_^
