WIW: Thrifted leather jacket - YouLookFab Forum

I have been looking, buying and returning leather jackets for some time now, looking for the elusive perfect jacket. It probably doesn't even exist.

Yesterday I found this leather bomber jacket at the thrift store. It's in new condition, feels fab, and fits well, I think. I can fit a sweater under it. One of my picky requirements is that the leather feel luscious, and it does!

Today I had to run some errands and this is what I wore, along with a navy long sleeve tee and jeans.

Leather jacket: Isabella Bird (related to Territory Ahead)
Boots: Timberland
Scarf: Lucky Brand
Bag: Coach Ergo Hobo (vintage)

What do you think? Is this jacket wrong for me? I hope not! I really love it already. It also has a detachable fake fur collar, which I'm not sold on.

I'm not sure, JAilleen. I want the bomber to work, but feel you need a more modern and updated pair of jeans to bring out the timelessness of the style. I hope that makes sense.

The bomber has some super classic military detailing. I think you will find a lot of ways to wear it.

Thank you for your honesty, Angie. I know my jeans are old, but I want to get to the store with the Levis Curve ID, jeans for curves (that you recommended in an earlier post), and it is a 2 hour drive for me each way. I don't want to mail order them because I want to try on a wide variety of styles and sizes to maximize the possibility of something working out.

Thank you Gryffin and Ceit! Thank you Thistle! It is not the weird green it appears to be, it is a medium brown. I think even though my hair is silver, I can still wear brown because my eyes and eyebrows are brown.

That jacket is a great find! And I think Angie's advice is spot on. You look good, but that could make it great.

Unfortunately I live in the sticks (relatively speaking) and need to take a day (!) to look for better jeans. Thank you, Sara L. I'm not sure about the fur. It's in perfect condition, but it feels a little scratchy around my neck. But I'll hang onto it, just in case.

A two hour drive is a mare. I hear you. Might be easier to order online anyway. You might like to try these jeans from Kohls too - if you're after a more flared leg:
