Just home from the wedding and it was a lovely day. Thank you so much for your kind words. I was very pleased with how this turned out. I normally prefer a more structured pencil cut skirt but given this is a flowy fabric, the straight skirt was a nice change. I stayed relatively cool, felt comfortable and was dressed more than appropriately. I was pleased to see that the majority of guests did make an effort. Skater dresses were very popular on the younger girls with a variety of colors and styles on the other women. The bride looked very beautiful, however her bridesmaids who are both full figured girls looked quite uncomfortable in very short, strappy, cleavage revealing dresses. The wedding was in a lovely historial town and the venue was just beautiful.
For those who can be bohered to read further, getting to the wedding was a comedy of errors! We attended an AGM first up this morning and were to then head straight the wedding which was an hour away. Leaving the AGM in the car, DH had a mild blood nose (due to the heat) and unfortunately soiled his shirt. So we headed home so he could change. He went inside put his shirt in the laundry basin and started the water, with the intention of leaving it to soak, and then went to put on a new shirt and promptly forgot he had the water running. I heard water running that didn't sound familiar and found the laundry floor flooded:) We threw some towels down to soak up the water and left once again to head for the wedding. 30 minutes into our journey, Master 9 calls out to stop the car as he feels sick!!! He was fine, and we did get there on time...it's been a big day:)
Time for a cuppa and curl up on the couch and I think it will be an early night.
