WIW: the long and the short of it.

Team Indecisive here. These are recent outfits. Each outfit has necessary layers, elements that I like and yes, happiness factors. I think the outfits are JFE. Clearly I coundn’t decide on a length for toppers. Lately I find myself preferring to wear toppers open.

2) Black, white, gray and rust. Day one for winter white pants. These are straight cut cords....warmer than jeans.
3) Brown! No matter the season, I feel happy in this dark color. The vest has an attachable fur collar, but that was a little too over the top for the day. Besides, I knew the kids would want to pet me.
4) Black, white, burgundy and a little metallic sass.
5) Gray, gray, gray.

Suggestions and thoughts most welcome. Are there colors you think look better with my graying hair (still a work in progress, but getting there with more silvery white and less yellow) and my winter white skin?

I think you look fantastic in each photo , I tend to prefer you in shorter more tailored toppers . They look modern and youthful, I also like them open . Photo 3 and 4 are outstanding !

You look fabulous Mainelady! My personal favorite color for you is that chocolate brown ... I love it on you (your eyes are dark right?) And in general I think you look great in rich color. Long and short toppers both work on you; enjoy the variety! The short jacket looks sportier where the longer ones have a casual-elegant vibe.

Mainelady, you have never looked better. A sublime start to 2019. The palettes here are beautiful with your new golden grey bob. The longer lengths are dramatic and ethereal, and the shorter lengths are streamlined and cheeky. Jewellery matches to perfection as always. #2 and #3 are my faves. Rock on.

Thank you Taylor. I have almost always worn shorter jackets. Last year I began experimenting with long cardis and this year tried the midi length toppers. I am short, so didn’t think I could pull off the look. I have to admit that I enjoy the cozy of the longer layers at work.
TG thank you. Yes, my eyes are dark brown, with a hint of green in certain light. It was easier to wear strong colors when I had dark hair, but those days are over. I finally reached the place in my life where I gotta be the real me.

Mainelady to me the chocolate doesn't look a bit harsh or overbearing though ... It has depth but also softness to it. The burgundy I love on you for the same reasons! Looking fab across the board!

First off, no matter what silhouette you wear, you look tall and your legs look miles long! I like the drama of the longer toppers and the smart, tailored appearance of the shorter ones. In short (or long?) you can't go wrong.

I think all of these colours look good on you -- cozy and a bit earthy-- perfect for Maine winters.

Thank you Suz. For a petite person, I have long legs (if that makes any sense). If I were standing with other people, it would quickly be apparent that I am vertically challlenged. Thank you for the comment about the colors....they do work well with Maine weather.
Opaline, thank you. Almost all of my bracelets are happiness factors. They represent people, memories and stories I hold dear. For example the 3 pictured evoke memories of a shopping trip with my twin (we bought matching bracelets), a birthday gift from my twin, and a gift from my husband during a vacation.

Your arm candy is a great happiness factor. The children probably enjoy it too. 3 and 4 are my favorites.

The outfits with shorter jackets are my favorites, but the long ones have a certain dramatic appeal as well. I like your sentimental bangles too!

Thank you Joy and Shevia. I have other happiness factors, but bracelets are the largest category and I like that I can wear a few at a time. Joy, the children do enjoy my jewelry and are sure to tell me if I wear any repeats.

You have the best jewelry. And I could not tell that you are petit, proportions look great in both short and long versions. Color palette is also nice with your coloring, you look more blonde than gray in this pictures.

gosh, you look great in the long toppers...like you, i'm short but most of my height is in my legs, so i can "break the rules" about wearing longer tops....there's a kind of regalness to #5 that i love, and #4 is just perfection IMO

Thank you Anchie. Yeah....my hair has more blond than silvery gray, but happily the gray is gaining. More of the silvery is on the top. I still have some dark brown patches underneath, but much of my natural gray began on top of my head. The yellow is left over from when we decided to highlight to break up the dreaded skunk stripe. Toner helps and I like it when the toner is a cooler gray silver shade, but of course it is temporary and I am only getting my hair toned every 6-8 weeks.

This looks like a very tight capsule of mix and match coordinates. I like the brick red/rust colour used as accent. My preference is for the shorter jackets.. You do so well with accessories, Mainelady - love the arm party.

The colours all work well with your hair. I think you have a way with making neutrals interesting and rich looking.
