WIW: LOVE tall boots, midi's, new hair

I'm embracing the tall boots trend and skirts/dresses!
Most tall boots I've tried the last three seasons go into or above the back of my knees, so I didn't realize how much I've missed tall boots until I found a few pairs that are not too tall in the shaft and fit my style preferences.

I've bought three pair of tall boots in two weeks - taupe, black suede OTK, blue(!) suede OTK (no more boots for me! ;-)). I never thought OTK boots were my thing, but I love them with midi's - feels so fresh, not juvenile or too alluring at all.

#1 new taupe(?) boots (Bata), old Karl Lagerfeldbag. The colour is a gorgeous mix of dark brown and grey, skewing towards black.

#2 black, "suede" OTK with block heel. Comfortable, on sale, but the material does not breathe well

#3 thrifted vintage Burberry wool skirt that I posted about some time ago, hemmed and taken in at the waist

#4 black/white check dress + green cardi + OTK boots...
...with forest green wool coat(vintage)

#4 black knit sweater + navy peter pan tee + Burberry skirt + Bata boots

#5 Before and after (with bangs) haircut.

Gorgeous! Fantastic new boots and hair and all three of your outfits are lovely. You're making me glad I hung onto my pleated plaid skirts.

Fab new hair! I'm liking the return of tall boots too. I have hung onto two old/vintage plaid wool skirts (thanks to my mom's closet) and might have to try wearing them dressed down this winter -- I really like the look of the combination you've shown here.

Thank you, Zibbets and Janet! I'm happy you like the outfits. I was struggling a bit to update the plaid skirt because it can easily become matronly or "too much vintage", IYKWIM.

Love the new hair. Great boots. The Burberry skirt is a fantastic find. Very versatile piece. IKWYM but the boots and hair make it all look hip or cool or whatever the term is these days.

All very lovely! Your otk boots are fab! Maybe you'll enjoy them better when it gets colder? My favorite look is the green coat all buttoned up with your boots-very chic, and what a beautiful color on you!

Oh, wow you look great! I love your outfits and your hair looks terrific. I wasn't sure about OTK boots for myself either but I bought a pair and was wearing them today. I like the change.

Sara L: I took Angie's advice on not missing out on an opportunity (like fitting tall boots).
Dana: I think the black OTK boots will be a fall item because they're not for snowy weather. The blue OTK's have a better sole, so they may be used in winter too. Fall temps here is about 5-10C (40-50 F) and quite rainy.
