I went to the mall to do a return and planned to stop in to Club Monaco in the hopes that they might have a trench coat I saw online. Well, they didn't. The store is closing and selling their entire remaining inventory for 80% off the marked price. I sensed danger for my "shop my plan" plan!
The selection was pretty well picked over, but I did get to try on a couple of dresses that I had pinned to my wishlist. Neither fit my needs, so they stayed at the store. My purchase: a black silk tank in an abstract white and purple galaxy print. Galaxy prints may be a bit past their prime in terms of trend, but they will always be fun and current to me! One of my favourite childhood memories is going to the library with my Mom on the weekend to check out books about space, and I am not ashamed to admit that I am a lifelong Trekkie. In one of my elementary school photos I am wearing a communicator badge.
"Wait, wait, that's all well and good. But what about your plan?"
Aha! Yes, HEWIs only until March. Since it is sleeveless, the shell will fit nicely into my complement of summer tops, which I had identified as a HEWI. And it cost me the delightful sum of $22.37, taxes in, with the 80% discount taken from the $99 sale price.
In true Team Wear fashion I am wearing the new top to work today. I usually avoid very high necklines because they emphasize my bust, so I added a v-neck cardigan and necklace to visually break up the line. With the necklace to add interest I chose not to semi-tuck the top, but I likely will wear it that way in future.
This outfit gets full marks for happiness and I look forward to many future adventures in my galaxy shell! What do you think? Comments/suggestions for improvement are always appreciated.
