WIW: silk & red, white & blue.

I've been busy so I haven't photographed most of my outfits lately. Here are some that I have. 2 are with my bone silk shirt I bought at Joe Fresh. I handwashed according to the instructions & it didn't come out too well so I will see if ironing helps it to look like it did. I can't return as there is no store here. The striped blazer is new. Is it me? It is a J Crew ponte one, that I thought would be handy. It says dry clean only. Has anyone washed theirs? How did the interfacing hold up?

The other outfit is my red, white & blue with the wrong flag for Independence Day tomorrow. I'm not even a Brit but DH is so I wear it for him, especially during international soccer matches. So I am wearing the shirt of the losing side when it comes to July 4th, but it is actually a photo from weeks ago, I wouldn't wear it today or tomorrow.

Any feedback welcome, including criticisms or tips for improvement.

Also I'm so spaced out lately I don't know for sure if I posted any of these already because I can't go back very far in the forum under "mine". Please accept my apologies for any double WIWs.

You look great in all iterations! you really rock those slouchy trousers in 1 and I adore your leather jacket in 3, it's a strong simple look.
4,5 and 6 are fab with the red white and blue. I like the layering very much.

Nice Elle! I really love the first 3. So sorry your shirt didn't do well with the hand laundering. It looks fine in the pictures. If your J. Crew ponte blazer has any rayon in it at all, my advice is to heed the 'dry clean only' instructions. It shrinks like the devil. Love your jackets and those black boots are wicked cool.

Claire the blazer is cotton with a touch of spandex but it has interfacing, which doesn't always do well with washing but previous versions of this blazer were labeled with hand or machine wash, I can't remember. Either they ran out of labels, got more careful, or had problems with people washing the previous ones. I used to work in the fashion industry & if labels ran out we would sub other labels as long as the care instructions were more cautious, not less. Some companies put dry clean only on everything. I couldn't find anything online where people had washed & ruined theirs. I just thought I'd check here if anyone had one of these or the one Angie posted about in the J Crew sale suggestions. The silk blouse here is before washing. It looks bad now:(

Those pointy toed ankle straps zap the outfits into extreme fabulosity.
You look fantastic in red white and blue, casual and so chic.
My favourite is #3 but these are all outrageously fab!

Elle, which outfit do you like best?

(I send all my blazers, coats, shirts, blouses and pullovers to the cleaners. It keeps the condition pristine).

Angie I think outfit 3 is my fave as it has the most comfortable shoes & I still prefer skinnies & I like it sans jacket more than the first one. The last one I like better without the jacket but not without the shirt & I wouldnt choose those shoes, they were just being tested for comfort, and didn't fare well enough. I wouldn't mind dry cleaning if it removed odour but it doesn't seem to.
