It feels weird posting shorts when almost everyone else is posting wonderful outfits featuring floral and velvet jackets, boots, knits, sweater dresses, etc etc. Everyone knows that shorts were born in the land that style forgot.

Anyhow, truth in posting demands that I post these outfits, cos it is what I have been wearing. Reminder: it IS summer where I am.

Outfit 1: So I got these dressy shorts. They are kind of like a wrap skirt. A big departure for me because I only wear denim shorts and only wear those begrudgingly (I run very hot and shorts in summer are a necessity). I did a keep or return a while back and was encouraged to keep them. So I have earned my place in team wear because I have indeed been wearing them. I wore this outfit to an outdoor lunch (no air conditioning!) on a 35 degree (95 F) day. It felt comfortable but I still have somewhat mixed feelings about the shorts: some days I feel like they are a fresh, practical look and other days I think of how much they remind me of the shorts I wore to school sport (blah!).

Shorts are from ASOS (Monki), linen tee is from Sportsgirl, Bag is Oroton (last year), shoes are Jo Mercer (last year), rose gold jewellery is from Mimco and House of Harlow (oldish)

Outfit 2: Feeling bold, I wore my new shorts to my work Xmas party. It is an uber casual affair. Always held during the day and usually at a pub or club. This year it was a stand up event, so no heels for me. I would usually wear jeans or a casual dress to this event. This year all the other women were wearing jeans or casual dresses. Not sure how great I felt about being the only woman in shorts. But I did enjoy my new fringey top. It felt very festive. And I discovered this interesting fact when I created the find: the Witchery model is wearing her fringey top with...SHORTS!

I took the photos after the party so I am looking a bit tired and my hair is reverting to natural. Hey, but at least I am still standing.

Shorts as above, top from Witchery, bag from Jigsaw, sandals from Jeffrey Campbell (UO), animal print bangle from Evocateur (so old I bought it from Endless).

Outfit 3: I felt I should include this outfit in a post about shorts to "keep it real" as they say. This is an at home outfit. I am experimenting with styling my shorts like skinnies by wearing long tunic tops over them. Actually, I kind of like them this way. The less I see of them, the more I like them.

Shorts are from Just Jeans, top is from ASOS (Noisy May), sandals are from the Iconic.

I must say I am SOOO much happier in jeans. Is there life after jeans - I think not!

Comments etc much appreciated
