E, where do I begin? The thread is your usual food for soul, you are so observant and creative and generous in sharing your inspiration. The outfits shown are beautiful. I never consciously paid attention to the way you blend with the environment, but now that you say it it makes perfect sense - and it suits you. To me, blending in can be two things - don't notice me at all 'coz I don't like that (not you) and don't notice me separate from the Nature (you, and so fitting and beautiful every time. No matter how you blend in, I always notice you).

The extra photos are delightful, thank you for sharing. More please

*sigh* I feel like I've been on holiday just looking at your photos. Your doggy is gorgeous and funny

You look fab in your striped top and jeans, so easy breezy and beachy. Lovely.

I agree short trips are the hardest to pack for- you would have only had to add a few things for a 2 week trip! You look wonderful- and happy- and your dog is absolutely adorable- that should be your avatar!

I was wondering where you were and hoping you were feeling well. I'm glad it was an absence for a good cause.

Your photography skills are wonderful. The shell butterflies are precious, the red plant is beautiful, and your wind-blown dog is hilarious.

I love your outfit in #2; your skirt length/stockings/shoes and seat on the wood make you look like you came out of an older era. You blend very well, as the others have stated.

Thank you Mandipa! I'd have a more challenging time dressing to blend in on a tropical trip, I think. But I'd love to see your city packing choices!

Joy, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Gigi, if it makes you feel better it was in the 50s and 60s the first day, the 40s and low 50s the second, and when we left it had dropped to the mid 30s. Still far warmer than what you described though!

Neel, luckily my camera has an articulating screen, so I wasn't quite on my stomach. I was definitely crouching though! Last year I went on a 'week long' trip os brought 6 pairs of undies, since obviously I was wearing one. Except it was really a Tuesday to Tuesday trip, so I was one pair short! Eek! lol When my skirt flew up that time, it was long enough that it then caught on my head, thus exposing my back side for even more time. Did you do the whole tongue twister? I loved them as a child!

Jeanie, isn't she funny? Thank you!

Thank you Ornella. That's a very good point about blending in: I hadn't thought about the wallflower meaning of the phrase. Hmmm: the only time I dress for that meaning is when I'm trying to avoid the male gaze, which is another topic all together.

Thanks Diane!

Pam, I think I took as many clothes on this trip as I did my 4 week trip to Ecuador. lol And I'll see about making her my avatar!

Alasse, I thought about posting before I left but didn't want to be self important. Thank you for the photography & outfit compliments.

Oh dear, that must have been awful. It's funny to hear about now, but then - !

I don't think it would be self important. We're your friends; we like to know you're doing well.

The only saving grace is that I was wearing boy shorts, so had a decent amount of coverage during the time I was frantically trying to get the skirt back down. It was pretty funny then too; I was 23 so out of the awkward teenage stage, when it would have made me want to die.

(And good point re: posting!)
