Missvee, thanks I opted for the black tie belt without much thought. I think your suggestion of coloured belt would add a little so something.
Lyn, yes that is my DH (funny man)! And the dress is new. It was on a "last one left" rack and I picked it up for a hefty $5.00. I liked the pattern and the style and thought that at the very least it would be comfy on a very warm non work day. It's a substantial tshirt type fabric and I think I will end up wearing to work too.

Thank you Angie, there is a lot of testosterone in our house! Sometimes I just go and shut my self in my room and play in my closet to escape it!
Beth Ann, you Re the voice of wisdom and reason. I was only "running around":). And unfortunately you are on the money about what others where wearing at the supermarket! My blush jacket does look good over this so I think for the office that will be a good combo with perhaps cream sandal booties.

Mochi, thank you! And yes my home is very modern classic. I'm a bit of a neat freak and can't handle lots of "things" around the place. Interestingly though, what I am learning here about clothing and putting outfits together is spilling over into my home as well!

Day Vies, thank you. I find my casual and dressy capsules cross over quite a bit. My default is dressy and this gives me a wider variety to work with. The most obvious expression of this wouldn't pairing jeans with a dressy work blouse. I can wear this combo on the weekends or at work and I like having that versatility.
