I have continued my hunt for clothing I can wear in my new Light Summer color palate.
1. A new Kenzie dress I found on sale at Macy's paired with an old charcoal turtleneck and charcoal leggings from J Crew. The shoes are taupe animal print loafers by Beautifeel. This outfit felt so comfortable to wear! It was like pajamas! I received many complements so it must have looked good. I'm not sure it photographs well.
2. I took existing items from my closet. A long sleeve cashmere sweater, a pair of light grey corduroy pants and a new winter white infinity scarf. This gave me an opportunity to wear a great pair of purple enamel earrings that my DH gave me one year as a holiday gift. I also wore some blue- green booties. Perhaps not my best look, but it was in my colors so I was still happy.
3. Here is another attempt at a plaid shirt. I thought the darker squares looked blue but they are actually grey. I am not overly fond of the snap front. Overall this shirt does not seem right for me. Too many issues, plus it's too dark. It's going back to Nordstrom, My hunt for a plaid shirt continues....
4. This is the JCrew size small chunky turtle neck sweater (which is somewhat cropped) and the JCrew collection pull on pants. I had a hard time deciding about the pants. I had two sizes, 4 and 6. I already returned the 6 because they looked ridiculous. I think this pic is with the 4. It still looks a bit ridiculous, but I think that may be the sweater. Pants with bagginess around my hips and abdomen just look strange to me. Perhaps because I am small everywhere else? I don't know? They proportions just look wrong. I played around with them, so they are in a few pics. I tried to find a way to make them work, and I still have a pair because the fabric is very soft and nice. I also like the length. The sweater is way too itchy and I returned it. Yuck! I hate itchy sweaters.
5. I think this is the same thing only with the larger sized sweater. (size medium)
6. Here are those JCrew pants again with a winter white turtleneck top that isn't cropped, just to see if I like the proportion any better. I'm not sure? What do you think?
7. Here is a side view of the same thing. Still not sold on this one.
8. This is better, I think. Paired with a fluid merino turtleneck. (Same pants)
9. I put a cardigan over the turtleneck and still like it. Perhaps this is my favorite with the pants. Should I keep these pants?
10. For fun I tried it with a red infinity scarf also, but I don't think I would actually wear this. I like the simpler look better. I like the red and blue mix though.
11. Everybody boodties, Love the zips. They are charcoal grey, not black. They look very dark in the pictures.
12. I found a different way to wear the scarf and this time I like it. Paired with my blue and white stripe button down and my quilted denim skirt.
13. This is what I wore yesterday. My merino turtleneck, a denim skirt and one of my old scarves. The scarf has a lot of green, so even though it isn't in my palate, I used green tights and paired this with my brown flat Aquatalia boots. (It was raining yesterday so they were perfect!).
14. Here is the cashmere periwinkle turtleneck that is not the correct color for me. I already returned it. I tried it in two sizes, small and medium. This is the small and pic 15 is the medium. Which size do you think is better?
15. Today I sat in a conference from 8 to 5 pm. I wanted to be comfortable. I wore my NYDJ 5 pocket ponte pants, and my new red turtleneck top. It was very cozy. It was raining again so I picked some charcoal Aquatalia booties.
17. I couldn't help but top this off with the poncho/cape that my son calls the "ugly blanket cape". I happen to love it, and it was perfect for keeping me warm today in a freezing cold meeting room.
18. I found the same Creenstone coat I was looking at before, only this one is in a light silvery gray. The color is definitely in my palate. I keep going back to this coat. I really like the quilting. The fur can be removed.
19. I can't believe I am still purchasing shoes. I just fell for these beauties. They are perfect for Halloween! They are made by Arche, and are so very comfortable. They are made from weather resistant leather, and that is always a plus for me.

In keeping with my new closet policy, for every item I have purchased and decided to keep, I have eliminated one item that was already in my closet so I do not have a net increase in belonging. So far, in the pics below, the items I have removed tags from are the Kenzie dress, the white infinity scarf, and the red turtle neck. The red infinity scarf may also have it's tag removed by now.
Thanks for looking!

As always I appreciate your feedback.
