La Pedestrienne - I really think Mr. Rogers was onto something, making that transition from outside to home with softer, more comfortable clothing. I think I'm willing to put more time into outfits/accessories on busy days because I know I'll be seeing more people, so the effort seems more worthwhile. I work from home, so there are many days when the only people I see are my husband and my son (okay, and my Starbucks barista).
JAileen - I will try to get a pic of a poncho outfit soon. I think Brooklyn hit on why I didn't like outfit #2 as much. It just felt a little muddy. That olive tee is a dupe of the black one in #3 and I felt like, the way the light hit it, it emphasized all the flaws the black one just glides over.
Brooklyn - I've actually worn those chinos in both the ways you suggest, and they're okay. I just don't love the color the way I thought I would. They feel kind of like Carhartts to me.
Colette - I need some indoor sneakers to toss from hand to hand.
Angie - Thank you! I could have guessed that would be your favorite.
Sara - I liked your teal version much better than my olive one!
Firecracker - I liked #3 too, and if it had been a little cooler, I could have happily popped a hat and jacket or poncho over for a bit more finished of a look. Your poncho looks even lighter than mine, so I bet you could wear it as a scarf, as well! I have found mine really handy for keeping in my bag to pull out for AC or cooler parts of the day. It's nice to have an interesting layer that packs up in such a small, neat way.
