WIW: Plaid leggings

For church today, I'm wearing plaid leggings from NAS, Chaps denim dress (from Kohls), Frye Campus boots, thrifted Coach duffle, and a Patagonia nanopuff vest. What do you think?

This looks quintessentially western, and I could see myself in something similar. Funny, but I have a very similar pair of leggings and have never worn them under a dress. Now you’ve got me thinking!

Looks cozy, and the cognac Coach and Campus boots really elevate it. Like Jenn says, it has a classic Western look -- that combo of denim, leather and plaid.

Jenn, LaP, thank you. The boots really change the vibe. I wore the leggings and dress before, with silver oxfords, and did not like it at all. I considered posting the picture to see why it didn't work, but didn't get around to it.

Lisa, thank you. The bag was one of the first Coach bags I thrifted. It's big enough to hold my Jack Russell, so you can lose things at the bottom, but I love its slouchiness.

I have a lovely pair of plaid tights here I've been saving for just the proper occasion. For some reason you've inspired me to try them with a sequin dress. How did this happen?

JAileen, the tights and boots look great together. Funny about your purse and puppy. Do you use some kind of organizers for your things in that purse? I have little mesh bags that were inexpensive at the container store (as much as anything is ever inexpensive there).

Now you have me wondering if I can wear my plaid in 80 degree weather!

MsGeer, I've never worn leggings much. I loved the idea of plaid legs, so I bought these during NAS.

Approprio, you need to post a picture of your plaid tights and sequin dress.

Fashiontern, this bag is ginormous. I don't know why I never thought of it before, but I use small zipper bags to collect up small things, such as lipstick, nail file, Advil, etc. Of course you can wear plaid in 80 degrees. The item has to be a summer weight plaid, though, doesn't it?

The rich tan of your boots and bag make the outfit for me. The denim and brown boots do give it a Western vibe. The texture of the vest, echoing the squares in the plaid and the low contrast to the dress is a genius touch.

Fashiontern, okay, that makes more sense! Leggings in 80F would be okay if you had some wind chill.
