The boots! The boots! (Sorry, I couldn't contain myself.)
What a fab outfit for a trip out in the car. I love that skirt on you, and so sorry about the pills. I'm sure you've gotten tons of wear out of it for your money this winter in any case. Interesting about the roundness of the dots...I think I hear Kibbe talking! Hope you are healing up well from your extraction. Have some chicken noodle soup on me.

Well, that's the way to brighten winter! I like the color palette in the sweater, which is surprising, since I, like DayVies, am generally a high contrast girl and this palette wouldn't work on me at all. Perhaps I'm drawn to things that I can't wear when I see them work on others?

I'm particularly fond of a bit of pink in winter!

Pilling is driving me crazy, too. And it has little to do with price, which is even more maddening

Yes, you're right Beth Ann. Although this sweater was inexpensive and is a wool/ cashmere blend. It seems worse with the blends.

Claire, thank you. The boots are amazing. So comfortable. They've had so few wears this year. It's not that I am babying them (after all -- they are all weather boots) -- but I just can't go out in them on sheer ice or in deep slush, or when I am tromping across a field of snow. So they've had far less wear this year than they would in a typical freeze/ thaw style winter here. Ah well.

On the positive side, you're right -- this sweater earned its CPW this year and I also wore the black La Canadienne boots enough to make them worth the $$ spent.

I love the soft cheerful colors and those boots. My gap cream sweater has not pilled or been itchy and has had a lot of wear this cold winter, but the navy version is different and itchy. I bought an inexpensive F21 long sleeved tissue weight turtleneck solely for wearing under it.
Since reading that cutting the pills off is best, I've been using a small very sharp scissors to trim them off sweaters. New pills don't seem to form as fast.

I love your outfit! Too bad about the sweater pilling. I've been lucky lately and although most of my sweaters are cheap (Target, Old Navy) none of them pill.

Can't see the piles:-), or anything other than The Boots! THE BOOTS!(which are same shade as the sweater, OMG how fab!) And, you sport skirts so well, Suz, we want to see more!

Suz, that is a great outfit! Pilling is a pain - it happens to me all the time

Sorry to hear about the dentist and the pilling. I have a very low tolerance for pilling on knits and will toss items at the first littlest sign, especially when a sweater comb doesn't help it. So frustrating! The outfit is lovely, all of this dress and skirt talk has me debating putting one on my fall/winter shopping list next year.

Very nice look, Suz. I hope that your dental work goes smoothly. Always nice when that is over.

I don't have that sweater, but pilling is so aggravating. It does impact whether or not one can keep an item. It is most irksome on some of the more expensive knits, as others have noted, higher cost doesn't always lead to remedying this. Just sympathizing without a solution.

Wow, Suz, my dentist has never seen me looking as great as you do in this outfit. Your boots are just fab, and these soft colors look great on you. I, too, wonder if you would prefer a slightly smaller-scale print in your sweater? I hope your mouth heals quickly and painlessly.

Looks nice! I love polka dots, purple, & pink.

This is great look Suz !!!! I hope all goes well at he dentist !

Lovely skirt outfit! Oversize polka dots add fun to a more classic silhouette. Me too, loving the boots. What are they?

I am with you about the weather. Ugh. Can't wait for it to clear out a little. Skirts are waiting in my closet. So are wider legged pants!

I the meantime, you sure look fab.

Boots are La Canadienne Mazy ....can be had on sale from 6 pm sometimes...although I did pay full price after looking fruitlessly for a long time for ones that would fit my calves in both height and width.

What a fresh, fun combination. Button up under sweater included, yay - and denim of all things! I don't have the right ingredient to try and copy the look, otherwise I'd rush to have a go.

p.s.

Pilly... LOL

Suz, when I read this the first time, I thought you said your sweater shaver went missing in a movie. And I was going, 'Damn, Suz must really hate pilling..."

So glad to know you weren't shaving your sweaters at the cinema. And I hope the dentist visit was not too traumatic.

Yup. Mine is pilling too. *sigh*

And I love this jumper. You look sensational, Suz. xo

I adore this spotted pilled sweater!!! So cute and so sad at the same time. I bought myself a Dritz sweater comb and now swear by it. Sveta will be so happy to see you in this and may I ask you about your nylons? I am desperate to find some that are lightly shaded, like yours, and not so darkly tinted. Can you share the color and type, Suz? Thanks.

Hope you're feeling better after the dental visit.

I've clicked on the pic three times - I just love the dotty sweater! That's too bad about the pilling. I wish there was some way to tell which sweaters are going to pill and which aren't. Is it fabric content? Washing?
