Lipstick: It's so funny, because the lipstick is more of a warm browned-red-pink-brick-coral, which is to say, not necessarily orange. (it reminds me of Mac Bricola, but less pink.) But it did pick up on the coat color perfectly--and totally unplanned. I bemoan the fact that the lipstick is long discontinued, which is sad. I might splurge on getting it color matched. It's a tiny brand made for a color analyst and will never likely be offered again, as the manufacturer is kind of a poo-poo head. But anyway, digressing.
ALL: You blew me away with your feedback! Thank you for lighting up my day!! Orange is my pink, as pink and blue are both my toughest colors. The exception for pink is teaberry, which is very difficult-to-find color. (I've only found once in my entire life to date.) Thankfully, orange has been in abundance this year. So anyway, the persimmon coat lives on!!
Suz, thank you for such glowing feedback! I do really love this color. Funny enough, I now have 5 orange item, ranging from copper, to persimmon, to burnt orange--unplanned to boot. Orange just found me this autumn! I do feel a bit sated now, but I'm open to more, especially for summer wear. Blood orange would be terrific if I can find it.
Ang, thank you for such kind words! yes, snow!! We've had three snowstorms already, since October. Another storm is on the way this weekend, with 6+ inches forecasted. I really do need tights!! Will post for tight advice.
AJ, I think it's a mountain life thing. I cannot tell you how many people I see wearing shorts, barelegged, in the winter here. That said, I grow less excited about bare legs in the winter as I age. So I really need to find some tights.
Sisi, yes! I am loving how the puffer is constructed. I feel they thought of everything.
kkards, ooo! What a great insight: This coat shows that who ever designed it has actually worn a coat! I have a feeling that is very possible. The zippered side vents and fleece lined pockets are what get me. Now that I've experienced them, I wish every coat had them!
cjh, I am supremely happy! I had a lot of self doubt. I feel very blessed. Despite my initial head doubt, my heart said "buy" and I'm glad I went for it.
Janet, practical but not boring! WOW! I wish I had thought of that. I think that explains my whole struggle with practical clothing: it usually is boring, boxy, and forgettable. You have given me something really helpful to ponder for 2024, as I grow my wardrobe and work into motherhood.
Jenni, oh I do love a good fleece legging!! I actually had some footless fleece tights. They are kind of a mix of tight and legging, sheer but heavier. However, they were very cheap, pilled like crazy, and just looked a bit ratty with wear. I tossed them in the spring. But I definitely need to get some tights again. I actually have never eaten persimmons, but I really want to try them. The little organic market near us had some. I nearly bought a few to try then doubted myself. But I think I'll go back to get some. They're not very popular in the US, don't know why. This is the first time I've ever seen them to buy!
