Thanks for all the positive feedback, especially for #3. That's a Target ponte dress, but I'm not sure what year. Maybe 3 years ago? I like the way the bold U design makes my waist look slimmer. It's a little on the short side and since the party had a James Bond casino theme, I needed to dress it up somehow. I was hoping the tulle, tux jacket, and bling would help. It's so nice to know that y'all think so too.
@Deborah - Audi was one of the first blogs I started reading along with Academichic. I had forgotten that she likes her tulle skirts. Must go back for more inspiration. Thanks for reminding me!
@Jjsloane - If we ever meet, we must give each other strange looks.
@unfrumped, donnat, Lar101, Vildy, Isis, JAileen, Ceit, Diane G, parkmommychic, alaskagirl, lyn67, Debra, Classically Casual, E, and carambola - Thanks so much!
@Karie - Good point! We don't leave coats on for long, so I shouldn't stress about it.
@gryffin - Never got a chance to try ballet, so I've also admired tulle skirts from afar until I happened upon this one at the thrift store.
@Angie - Eeep, killer?! I am doing my happy dance! Thanks so much for chiming in.
@La Belle Demimondaine - I want to see how you style that black straitjacket. The tulle skirt was a thrifted find from a couple of years ago. It's an Isaac Mizrahi for Target.
@Lisa - Well, I did have sparkle earrings. : )
@Vix - Outfit #1 allowed me room to eat well at the church potluck. #2 Helped me to feel glam amongst the crowd of metallics and sequins. I couldn't get the hang of the rules for craps or roulette, so I mostly stuck to black jack. With our ticket winnings, hubby won a Home Depot gift card. : )
@Beth Ann - thank you for chiming in about the coat.
@Marley - Back at ya!
@Jeanie - Well there were many fabulous looking cocktail dresses at the casino party. Mine seemed vintage in comparison, but I don't mind being an odd ball. : )
