WIW Orange trousers, and keep or return white shoes?

Dear Fabbers,
This is my version of bright trousers outfit,

Outfit 1 - what I often wear, orange trousers, black asymmetrical sweater, black boots, black vintage handbag. Normally, I would wear a scarf, for example the one in outfit 2 here. Today, I wanted to continue with project no scarf and used a necklace.

Outfit 2 - test. A black tunic, a long silk scarf, white bag and a pair of white loafers. Please help me here and give some advice. I can still return these, Susanne Rae loafers - beautiful quality, but is the style good for my typical trouser outfits? White footwear is new to me, apart from sneakers. Would black shoes be nicer with my colours and style? What do you think about this outfit and the shoes?

Outfit 3 - another test outfit. White jacket, black top, a scarf rolled and used as a choker, the same new white loafers and a black bag,

What do you guys think about the outfits? And, should I keep the white loafers. I was very excited about them at first, but now not sure any more, I think my usual black or darker footwear agrees better with my style. Or should I try to find another type of white shoes instead? Or keep these? Grateful for honest feedback.

I really like the white shoes (not a surprise), especially when you've got a little bit of white elsewhere in the outfit.

I don’t even like white footwear and I think those are prefect for your style - especially with the squared toe.

Love the necklace, asymmetry, and bookending in outfit #1. In addition, the white shoes in the other outfits are bold, clean and dramatic and go well with your style, in my opinion. Why not have the additional options white shoes can provide? Keep. They will give you more stuff to play with.

I do like white footwear but with caution.....and I like these. I do think they have a mod/60s sensibility that works well. I think the black heel will make them easier to wear for you too.

KEEEEP!!! I agree with all the above comments, these are fantastic and I can see as the weather warms up, you will enjoy having the lighter footwear. Very fun with your white jacket that looks nice and lightweight for the warmer weather.

I’m not a fan of white shoes, but agree with everyone else, these are great, and the general shape and square toe is perfect for your style. I particularly love them with the white jacket. The only tweak I might make to that outfit is either a long-sleeved blouse, or a lighter colored one, so that the line of the sleeve hem isn’t so obvious.

That said, this statement gives me pause, “I think my usual black or darker footwear agrees better with my style.” If you think that long term you wouldn’t gravitate to them, I’d return.

love the white shoes....and from one fellow dark shoe person to another, i'll admit it took me a while to get on the band wagon...but at least for me, the white boots i bought this year became instant outfit updaters...

I am a fan of white shoes, and these really move your outfit up a peg from stylish to uber stylish. #2 (with white shoes) or #3 is an outfit that would get scouted for street style at fashion week, and I would expect to see you front row at the shows! The turquoise necklace is a lovely piece. I like the outfits best without the jacket. VERY figure flattering.

Those loafers are an amazing find! The square toe is everything.... I think you should trust your first instincts, let your eye adjust to light footwear. Super cutting edge shoes! Liking the interesting necklace in place of a scarf on occasion. Fresh!!!!

Love them esp #5! I think you'll enjoy wearing white shoes as it gets closer to spring, especially if you have other whites to pair them with.
I even tried on some white booties (watching Angie faint in surprise). They had dealbreaking silver hardware, but won't rule out other options.

I am leaning towards keeping them.
Pros: like the shape. The heel is the perfect height with most of my trousers. I was hoping to achieve some modernization of my look - which seems to be achieved, as you guys think they are retro modern looking. Cons: despite loving white footwear on others, like Angie, UmmLila, Joy, Bijou, Kkards and other stylish Fabbers, I am also a slow starter (like you Kkards) - need to get used to this for myself. Not as universally flattering on me due to hair colour, but that I don’t mind.

The black heel and sole make this the ideal white shoe for you, like Sal said. I like them with white someplace else in your outfit, like the white handbag, or a scarf with some white in the print, or bangles or a necklace...? No kidding, I sat bolt upright when I saw these shoes!

Mtnsofthemoon, both the black frame handbag and the white handbag are from a consignment store. I found them for about ten years ago and I think they are both from the 60ies. The black one is English made, beautifully crafted and it was in pristine condition when I bought it. It is lined with creme suede and there is one of those matching small mirrors in leather A real fun vintage bag. Second hand shops could be a great source of these kinds of bags.

Ohhhhh Katerina they sound devine! What a find. I am a little obsessed with Bellestone frame handbags. One day I may actually let the $$ go and purchase one. They are lovely. Many of the Bellestone handbags came with a matching mirror and coin purse. Sounds similar to you black one.
