WIW (or that was the idea...): New Year's Belly Tuck

So. I sorta dared to semi-tuck into the maternity boyfriends. Yeah, I tucked a top in over the burgeoning belly. Where on earth did I get that 'good idea' from? Not sure what it looks like from back or sides, but it was nice to be safe against the sort of draughts a smock is often prone to.

Question: Is the horizontal line of sleeves and waist at the same level too distracting?

I wore this on the eve of the Solstice (21 December) and liked it enough to intend to repeat it on New Year's Day, now that I've finally got the jeans hemmed. Alas, it has been this city's coldest day in 44 years --- NOT appropriate for a smock and a shawl thrown on top! (http://youlookfab.com/welookfab/)

You don't need to see the mess I made of it today. Trust me. I'll just save this memory for a rainy day, like today.

The maternity semi tuck works

The sleeve length finishes at the same horizontal line as the waist - and that is a little distracting to use your description. But not a train smash.

Asingh, I fear purchasing maternity skinnies isn't on my agenda for now. It's too short a time (less than three months to go) for such an investment. But I do hope the top will live in my closet long enough to get worn with my older jeans later in the year, perhaps --- fingers crossed!

The semi-tuck totally works! That's a lovely top! And if you scrunch the sleeves or simply move your arms (as you would be doing in real life) you don't get the straight horizontal look you're worried about.) FAB!!

Love the jeans, Mandipa! I think the tuck works, too. I'd suggest rolling the sleeves to break of the line if the day is warm enough.

Crazyone, this was taken on one of our warmer winter days (it really wasn't THAT cold around Christmas), so I could just wrap a shawl over this and be cozy... then!
