Thanks for your nice comments and support, everyone!
Joyce, high five on the sneakers!
unfrumped, when I cut off the chinos, I had to do some fussing with the taper at the hem. It's not as simple as it may seem, and yet it's worth the little bit of extra effort if you end up with a pair of shorts you really like!
Elizabeth, I did go for quite awhile without posting. I took a break from photographing my outfits, too. I did it for about a year and haven't figured out what, if anything, to do with the photos (e.g., organization, analysis, whatever).
Angie, I know you wore a hat on your Arizona trip, too. I got this one with my Europe trip in mind, and I wore it on the hot, sunny days, for sightseeing.
Marlene, you crack me up. Of course you need a backpack. You might need the black one.
Staysfit, high five! I like your taste in bags and shoes, among other things! My backpack is a light gray, called "ash."
Aida, the dress and shrug (outfit 2) is one that I wore on a super hot day. But there is A/C at work, so I actually got a little cool during parts of the day. My travel capsule for Europe ended up perfect for the heat wave there, full of light cotton and linen layers. Unfortunately I didn't take any photos of the packing or the outfits in action. But I loved what I took, and the few items I bought there are nice hot-weather pieces, too. I hope to show them in outfits here sooner or later.
ummlila and unfrumped, thanks for the comments on the cobalt. I alternate between liking it and feeling like it's overpowering. I liked it in this outfit!
